Commercial Description:
Sublimely elegant this toffee toned bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak bourbon barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today, you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and carmel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this bourbon barrel a masterwork to remember.

12 oz bottle fomr KingpinIPA, thanks buddy. Pours a clear reddish amber with a small to average sixe bubbly light beige head. Aroma is great with tons of sweetness from fruits, pear..green apple..raisin..peach..grape, oak, vanilla, honey and molasses. Medium bodied with strong carbonation and an alcohol warming on the finish. Flavor is good but not quite as intense as the aroma. Notes of raisin and plum, oak, vanilla and honey. I enjoyed this beer very much but just wished I wasnt such an ogre that I drank this all on my own. Sorry guys I normally share with I have no will power.

Shared by decaturstevo at the zapit tasting. Pours a clear reddish orange with small off-white head. Sweet plum aroma is a little oakey. Flavor is spicy with bourbon and hints of alcohol. Chewy body with a bourbon finish.

Bottle shared by decaturstevo. Poured a ruby color with a thin, creamy, off-white head. Nice Bourbon and vanilla aroma. The flavor finds milk chocolate with a vanilla and bourbon backing. Medium body and sweet throughout.

This poured a copper color with a small head. The aroma contains some alcohol, bourbon, and caramel. The flavor is rather sweet with some caramel, toffee, bourbon, and vanilla showing through. The finish is also sweet. Overall this was a good beer.

12oz bottle. Slightly sweet woody aroma, very nice. Pours dark copper with very little head. Smooth flavor, with a little bourbon heat, not much, but it’s in the back of the throat. Nice.

Pours a red copper hued cloudy orb in my flute. Not much bourbon in the nose. Some good malt and an almost butterscotch flavor to the palate. Not much hop in this one, although there is this weird lingering clove flavor in the aftertaste. Has that certain piney nutmeg flavor that all of NG’s beers seem to have. A little too clove-ish for me.

Bottle from Discount. This one must be past its prime, very tinny tasting. Nose has minimal funk, lots of vanilla/bourbon. Low carbonation. taste is big and rich, caramel dominating. A bit of hops, though not much. Most bourbon and caramel. Nice enough body, but like I said, metallic. Meh.

decaturstevo’s 2008 Zapit Tasing Tasting. Sample from a bottle thanks to decaturstevo. Dark copper red with a slight off white head. Aroma is strong smokey bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Taste is light chocolate, caramel, then a rush of bourbon.
