Commercial Description:
Sublimely elegant this toffee toned bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak bourbon barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today, you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and carmel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this bourbon barrel a masterwork to remember.

Overall I enjoyed this beer. The palate of this particular brew I intriguing. You can easily pick out the oak taste as well as a rich vanilla. Warm and medium heavy on the tongue. Good stuff.

Very nice. You pour this one and the burbon becomes immediately apparent in the mix. Smell and flavor, nice alcohol burn too. Very complex!

12oz. bottle, with thanks to both footbalm and barleyPops! Pours a clear amber with a fluffy tan head, moderate lacing. Aroma is toffee and caramel, with oak, vanilla and bourbon coming out more as it warms. Flavor brings out some sweetness, including more toffee, oak, vanilla and mild bourbon, finishing sour and dry. I’m not sure that the BB, dopplebock style, and the sour brett really work well together on this. Not offensive, but the various components seem to sit beside each other rather than blend and compliment. Thanks again to Duane and Eric!

Bottle. Pours an amber brown with little white head. Aroma is sweet, oaky, bourbon, etoh, no hops. Flavor is quickly sweet bourbon with a potent etoh which quickly shifts to a malty, dry brett finish that leaves a dry feeling yet you still notice the bourbon mouth coating and the warming. I cant say i loved this beer however it was pretty unique.

Pours a murky dark orange color with almost no head. The aroma is all bourbon with some oak, allspice, and sticky malts. The flavor is simply not good. Tastes like a barrel-aged, flat, pumpkin beer. Not a fan whatsoever, Really disappointed.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark orange body with a rather small fizzy off-white head that faded rather quickly. The aroma is much more complex than I was hoping for. The interplay between the bourbon and the sweet caramel and toffee maltiness is wonderful. Once you get past that and hit the bretty and oaky undertones with nuances of vanilla and alcohol, you just want to smell this all night. A little bit of candied apple as well. The flavor is showing even greater effects from the brett. None of the sticky sweetness that I expect from a Doppelbock, more of a dry toasted caramel flavor. The bourbon nicely rests in the background, peeking it’s head out for a bit on the finish. The mingling of the brettiness and the bourbon doesn’t seem to work as well as it did in the aroma. Still, it’s quite complex and drinkable. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied and quite sturdy, slightly thick, but not sticky or cloying. Moderate fairly soft carbonation. Overall, certainly a unique offering. I like it, but I’m not so sure I could drink more than one at a sitting.

12oz bottle, not impressed by this style. Poured a copper trasparent color with tan head and good lacing. Smell of wood oaks, vanilla and dry figs. Roasted taste dry and flat. Hints of the following, toffee licorish, figs, vanilla, somewhat reminded me of medicine I used to take as a child. Soft palate but a hard beer to drink. Did not enjoy to much.
