Malty/Sugary nose. Seems somewhat thick/syrupy and biscuity. Slight cough syrup. Smooth buttery malt flavor up front, with a soft hop background. Average body and mouthfeel. Finishes smooth and clean, with only a subtle buttery malt flavor. Alcohol is well hidden. Thanks goes out to MrFacto for the trade!

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2004 Dark Red. Subtle yet deep aroma of big, caramel accented malt, fruit, peach skins, apples, cinnamon, erases and alcohol. Wonderful, gripping maltiness. Sugary as hell. Notes of dark fruits, caramel, banana and pit fruit. Unbelievably smooth. Just lovely. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2004 Clear dark red. Sweet pineapple aroma. Defined alc taste with a thick malty punch. Very cloying as expected. Dry bitterness in finish. Very to-style. Easy to drink, very smooth. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Lighter than most of the style in color and body. The alcohol carries some of the nose and finish. In between is a nice mildly sweet, moderately malted vinous bock. Plums and pit fruit are at the front. Smooth finish, with the alcohol burning the nose more than the tongue. Mangino (1027), Mississippi, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2004 Updated: Dec 7, 2005Pours a dark brown, amber, with hints of crimson color. Small off white head. Aroma is of fresh baked bread, cherries, fresh made caramel/tofee, and some of ther grain/cereal notes. The flavor starts smooth, malty and goes into a grassy hop thing. Overall a tasty treat, oxidation is onsetting, age has done it some good, but dont let this one sit around much longer. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Brown body, dissipating head. Huge concentrated aromas - heated molasses, tree bark... Big malty flavors. Sweet, borderline cloying. Complex and smooth, but not something I could enjoy every day.
