Commercial Description:
This Eisbock was lagered a full year and then frozen to incomparable smoothness. This is a big and complex beer, suitable for laying down or consuming immediately, serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A few times a year, we will cut Dan Carey loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, UNPLUGGED. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Eisbock is the first of our Unplugged series of beers.

Mahogney color with a medium sized off-white head. Semi-sweet malts, plum and a slight nuttiness in the aroma. Malty, light roast, some earhty flavors. Light bitter finish.

Bottled, thanks cquiroga! Mahogany colour, small head. Nutty, woody aroma. Sweet with clean but huge maltiness. Salty and rich with grassy licorice finish.

12oz Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with no head. Aroma is strong of malt and rye bread with caramel notes. Body is slick and slightly syrupy with low carbonation. Slight alcoholic finish with warming sensation. Alcohol well hidden from flavor. Slightly bitter and quite dry. Flavor is a bit weak but has signature Doppelbock qualities. Malt, caramel and slight sweetness. Overall not as big a beer I thought it might be but still enjoyable. Alcohol creeps up on you.

Dark mahogany color with a medium off-white head. Nice raisin, toasted malt and wood aroma. Nutmeg, raisin, wood and alcohol flavors. Lightly crisp, fairly thin feel.

Deep ruby color with a medium beige head. The aroma was not as strong as I hoped...wood, spice (nutmeg?) and alcohol. The flavor was nice a toasty, roasted grain, spice (again nutmeg), cherries, wood, and alcohol. The feel was mildly crisp, and slightly thin. Thanks footbalm.

Pours transparent dark red. Aroma is sweet dough, raisins, and alcohol. Flavor is cola, raisins, dough, a little chocolate, with a balanced bitterness in the finish. The only small gripe about this overwise excellent beer is the thin palate. L++

Appearance: beautiful brown body, reddish at sides, with a nice, thick, long-lasting tannish head. Aroma: oh, God! Yeah! Full, deep, sweet, yet dark, with fruity notes, like grape, dates..quite a shocker, a delirious deliverence of intense aromatics! Taste: Full-bodied...MMMM! Magnificent! I’ve got the bock on the tongue now, just waiting for the "eis" to come on board..oh, yeah! Big, and full, and fierce! Bing, bang, BOOM, it’s a powerhouse, not just in booziness, but unrelenting flavor! Wonderful nuttiness shows up, too, it’s really a complex and thoroughly tasty, totally rewarding monster. The above was pieced together from notes taken in late August, and I have to trust my drunken jottings on this. Any additional donations of this unique treat will be most welcomed!
