Commercial Description:
This Eisbock was lagered a full year and then frozen to incomparable smoothness. This is a big and complex beer, suitable for laying down or consuming immediately, serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A few times a year, we will cut Dan Carey loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, UNPLUGGED. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Eisbock is the first of our Unplugged series of beers.

Bottle Pours a deep red copper, almost scarlet, with a foamy light tan head that very quickly dissapears. No real lacing to speak of. Aroma is very nice, honey, hard cider, grapes, and swet malts. Tastes like old oak barrles, bourbon, and a rich nutty flavore as well. The ABV seems a bit hing but not labeled. Carbonation is moderate and the feel is nice and full. Bitter tannin trailer.

Small tan head, decent retention, not much lace. Clear brown/ruby red hued brew. Medium sweet malt nose with hints of raisins and and anise. Medium body. Medium sweet malt notes, caramel, nice graininess, chocolate and some fruity notes also. Finish is medium sweet. Thanks MrFacto!

Only 2nd beer of this style. Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock was very good. Again this gem comes from John (JPDIPSO). No head out of the bottle. The caramel and coffee surges to the front of your tastebuds and says hello I’m pretty damn awesome!!!! Tastebuds don’t lie, this is much much better than Aventinus. Awesome beer. Dark Ruby color, lots of gravity in every mouthful. This is simply a great beer!!!! No exceptions or exclusions. You want great beer, Wisconsin has it and these guys have lassoed a big chunk of the greatness in every drop of this beer. Simply incredible beer.

Aroma is of caramel, lots, and oak. Taste more of same. A little sweet, with dry aftertaste. Pours dark brownish with red tint and little head. Okay, but not great.

Thanks to JPDIPSO for this one. Pours deep amber with a small white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, caramel, cabernet, port, figs. Tastes very malty, fruity (figs), very dubbleish, with some nuts, cabernet, port, and a firm finish. Dense, slightly acrid mouthfeel. This one is one part Belgian dubbel, two parts grand cru, one part strong brown ale, and one part barleywine. Multiple layers of complexity, and tons opf flavor changes as it warmed. Another kick ass offering from New Glarus. Christ, if this keeps up, I may have to move to Wisconsin.

dark, yet not too dark, but dark. has a very grainey/ caramel aroma to it. taste is kinda the same, yet very watered down, but not as much as to make it suck, so its pretty damn decent.

Pours a very dark brown color with very little head. Aroma is drenched in malt. Unplugged? I beg to differ. I’m pretty sure it’s hooked up to a couple thousand volts. Strong malt taste with a bit of caramel, raisin, and sweetness. Oh good gravy... this would be much better in the winter, but is magnificent.

Deep amber brown with thick head receding fast. Malt toffee, chocolate aromas. Rich with nice carbonation, chocolate flavors with high acidity, and some burnt toast flavors. Alcohol present though not overpowering. Light overall flavor with some fruit...still prefere aventinus’s eisbock.
