Commercial Description:
This Eisbock was lagered a full year and then frozen to incomparable smoothness. This is a big and complex beer, suitable for laying down or consuming immediately, serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A few times a year, we will cut Dan Carey loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, UNPLUGGED. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Eisbock is the first of our Unplugged series of beers.

TITW Part Deux - 12oz bottle courtesy of footbalm. Thanks, Eric! Medium brown appearance, off-white head. Aromatic nose: fruit leather, slightly boozy, some toastiness; hints of strawberries. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: alcoholic fruit roll-ups (similar to Enigma), slightly watery at the edges, red fruits and leather; slightly hot. Medium finish showing raisins and dried fruits.

Enjoyed a sample of this one at Tasting in the Woods, Part Deux. This beer pours to a deep chestnut color, with a slight tan head that fades, and a moderate to soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent with lots of good sweet, nutty, and toasty malt aroma. The plate is rich, and slick on the tongue with lots of good sweet, toasty, and nutty malt flavor. This beer finishes with more good sweet nutty and toasty flavors up front, then ends with some good sweet malty flavors, and light peppery alcohol heat, that lingers. Excellent domestic example of Eisbock. Wish New Glarus would brew this one again.

Thanks to Ughsmash for this one. Pours out a dark slightly ruby brown with a small slowly lacing head. Aroma is of dry fruit and some sweet malt. Very complex taste with some port like flavors with some toffee and some dried fruit with a slight lingering sweetness. Little alcohol on the finish. Solid brew, thanks!!!

Pours a clear dark red-brown with a fizzy head that quickly retreats to nothing. Aroma is of dried fruits, like port. In the mouth, it’s a little bitter on top of the port-like flavors at first, but the bitterness quickly fades and it finishes sweet and fruity. Slightly watery.

12 oz bottle, via 1FastSTi, I think. Pours a clear dark garnet colored body under a fizzy light brown colored head that faded to a thin film. Aroma is thickly malty with some nice port and light soy oxidation notes. Some alcohol, tobacco, and toffee as well. The flavor has a great aged character to it. Port and soy up front with a lightly alcoholic and rather sweet finish. Mouthfeel is thick and full bodied with a slightly syrupy texture and soft moderate carbonation. A very nice aged Eisbock. This held its own against the best Eisbocks I’ve had.

This poured a dark amber to brown color. The aroma is very malty and filled with chocolate and caramel. The flavor is quite sweet with some candi sugar, dark fruit, and caramel. The aftertaste was smooth for the ABV. Good beer.

Thanks to someone at kps fest of 26. A darrk brown pour with a pleasant sweet flavor of fruit. A nice full bodied mouthfeel. Not a great beer but very fine thanks to someone for the opportunity.

Maple-brown with little light-colored head. Very potent licorice, molasses, cherry, caramel-apple, buttery aromas. Smells very sweet and rich. Fruity too. Rich caramel and molasses flavor but not too sweet. Noticeable heat from the alcohol. Medium-full body.
