Commercial Description:
This Eisbock was lagered a full year and then frozen to incomparable smoothness. This is a big and complex beer, suitable for laying down or consuming immediately, serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A few times a year, we will cut Dan Carey loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, UNPLUGGED. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Eisbock is the first of our Unplugged series of beers.

A deep amber/copper color. Head died within 20 seconds but a hard pour yielding a bit more. Awesome nose of toasted malt, almonds, hint of cherry, something perfumy (flowery) Estery as hell. Medium bodied, huge chewy malts, almonds, candied fruit (raisons, dates, ect) and more. A bit watery in the mouth to start but improves as it warms, alcohol is barely tasted but enough to add some character and warmth. Eisbocks are good.

Has a decent malty, fruity aroma to it. Has a deep brown amber color, with a thin tan head. Flavor is pretty good, fruity, noticable alcohol flavor as well. Has a decent body and texture, with little carbonation. Overall, this is pretty good. Too bad it’s retired now...

Dark fruits and nutty malts in the sweet and somewhat alcoholic aroma. Hazy dark brown body is topped by a shy, off white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Dark fruits and pleasant nutty malt character are on display in the flavour as well with a healthy jolt of alcohol and plenty of thick toffee character. Medium light body with low carbonation and strong alcohol warming. Bottle enjoyed with MartinT, Rastacouere and Siroy.

Pours a deep brownish red with faint tan head. Aroma of dark fruits, molasses, roasted malts and caramel. Flavor follows aroma, but has a more pronounced molasses element.

Poured deep mahogany with a quicklt disappearing head. A very sweet aroma with dark fruits and candied malts. Flavor was raisins, molasses, carmel, and a littl alcohol. Very sweet.

A fully diminishing average fizzy off-white head tops up a hazy medium mahogany body. No lacing. No particles. No bubbles. Aroma presents malt being medium molasses while hops are very faint ... Yeast character is moderate fruitiness. Also, there are evident evocations of plum prune and grape figs. Moreover, tones of toffee and smoke surround the whole. Flavor is medium sweet in a fruity way. Finish is medium . medium to full body... creamy texture... Soft carbonation...

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & Dave B. -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy ruby with a spare diminishing off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, dark fruit and alcohol. Flavor of toffee, yeast, smoke, caramel malt, burnt dark fruit and a sweet alcohol and hop finish -- wow, that’s very flavourful and complex. Medium bodied. Not the best Eisbock I’ve had but certainly one of the better ones. Very good.

Filtered deep caramel sauce, slowly fading off-white ring. Wheat-like corn flakes and rich syrupy toffee, earthy malts with underlying alcohol would appreciate a bit more forward fruitiness that lacks all the way through. Moderate complexity in mouth, light bourbon feel in the alcohol, sweet and focused malt flavours hinting at leather, chocolate, but mostly nutty toffee. Light-medium carbonation becomes slower over the medium body that gains a creamy, oily edge after a few minutes. Pretty good considering its advancing age. Thanks JPDipso.
