Commercial Description:
This Eisbock was lagered a full year and then frozen to incomparable smoothness. This is a big and complex beer, suitable for laying down or consuming immediately, serve at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. A few times a year, we will cut Dan Carey loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, UNPLUGGED. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Eisbock is the first of our Unplugged series of beers.

Poured an amber color with a small, off white head that left light, sticky, lacing on the glass. Aroma of nuts, whisky, caramel malts, smoke, wood, and some oxidation. Taste of caramel malts, some citrus fruits, dried fruits, black pepper, nuts, and some alcohol in the finish. Thanks hopdog!

12oz bottles acquired in trades with JCapriotti & Ughmash (thanks!). Poured a darker and clear reddish/brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, light smoke and some alcohol (a lot going on there). Tastes of lighter chocolate, some dark fruits, caramel with a light alcohol finish.

Bottle at Indy gathering courtesy of jdnaptown. Ivory small fizzy head with that quickly dissipated, fine-small sized bubbles, sparse lacing, transparent, and a red hue. Nose was malty, caramel and chocolate. Sweet, malty, chocolate, dark fruit, and vinuous flavor. Nice! Tingly, vinuous palate.

Malty ,currant maple aroma, shorthead, clear anda dark amber color, Taste was wonderful, carmelly malty vanilla maple, very little in back bitterness and just a touch of alcohol. Mouthfeel is creamy. Very impressive, the kind you want to alert your friends about

Indy gathering 2005 from jdnaptown. This bottled brew poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized mostly diminishing light brown colored bubbles that left behind a fair lacing. The body contained no carbonation, was transparent and red brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of floral malt spice . Its mouth feel is initially smooth with a lingering tingly palate and a aftertaste. Its flavor contained semi-flat thick malt hop notes. All-in-all very nice brew.

Bright and mohogany in color, not much head or lace but pretty thick and viscous. Light sweet malts on the nose and slight hops. Rich in the mouth, good amount of maltiness with a good balance of hops.

Bottle at Indy gathering 12/10/05, thanks to jdnaptown. redish brown with little head. Has a fruity character of cherry and malts and other dark fruits. Sweet and rich in both flavor and feel. Very round smooth beer with a great finish including a bit of alcohol.

(Bottle courtesy ’jdanaptown’ Indy tasting 12/10/05) Aroma is strong alcohol, black licorice, carmel, and toffee. Pours a dark brown with little head. Flavor matches aroma with some dark fruit showing up. Palate is crisp and clean. The alcohol is ’warm’ which makes for a nice winter brew and it’s tasty too.
