Pours a golden hazy color with a large frothy off white head. Nose of wheat, clove, bubble gum, banana and touch of citrus. Initial taste of nutmeg, banana, clove and good balancing wheat. Mid palate displays lemon peal. Finishing with good balancing hop bitterness, wheat, and clove. Touch of warmth from the alcohol that is very impressive for its 9.6%. Lots of spices still lingering in the palate duration. Good palate, medium body with microbubble mouthfeel. Good head retention and spot lacing of the glass. Absolutely fantastic. Refreshing and flavorful.

Oct 6, 2008 Bottle thanks to valpoaj. Thanks! Pours cloudy golden with fluffy white head. Aroma is pure citrus. Flavor is sweet - but ends on a dry note and is fruity with some clove in there. Only an idiot would add a lemon to this stuff. New Glarus makes me want to explore German beers more.

Sep 19, 2008 Pour is hazed orangey golden with a thin sticky off white head...smell is immediately strongly citricly hoppy with some vanilla and banana and clove as it warms...taste is sweet at first, turning nicely spiced with clove and cinnamon for sure...then a light grapefruit bitterness in the finish....this is the only hefe that I think I might actually put a lemon in...I wonder what that’d be like...

Sep 19, 2008 Thanks to bitbucket tasting. Dark blonde. Really fantastic mix of yeast, fruitiness, sweetness and pretty big citrus hops. Fantastic stuff.

Sep 15, 2008 Pours liquid gold...just as thick and radiant. Nose is semi-sweet; banana, citrus, clove, wheat, and yeast. Flavor is bold...and dominated by clove, citrus, and banana. The 9.6% ABV is truly invisible. Not my favorite style but I can appreciate the brew. New Glarus...great brewery!!! hillfiiiiire, ketchepillar, & crowderm...THANKS AGAIN!!!

Sep 13, 2008 The beer pours a thick white head with a nice ring that coast the sides of the glass. It has a cloudy orange yellow color. The nose is of sweet light fruits and citrus hops. The initial flavor is nice and bitter with hops just popping in your mouth. Overall it like how is nicely carbonated and contains the right amount of hops and malt.
