Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Bartered Bottle from Hophead22 . Poured a murky copper reddish color with smal head. Aroma was amazing with sweet tart cherries, cinnamon almost like a cherry pie or cherry sucker. Taste was very smooth and sweet with nice tartness. Dry finish with low carbonation. Overall really really good. This one shocked me. Thanks Tim.

Pours amber with an off-white head. Notes of cherry, sweet tarts, sour & sweet, lightly acidic candy. Full bodied, sweet and stikcy with lush carbonation.

Bottle. Pour is murky reddish brown with a fairly large, rocky pink head. Aroma is lactic acid, cherry, light malt, and a hint of earthiness. Flavor is less tart than expected but still a nice sour cherry bite in there. Finish is a little more malty and earthy with notes of wood. Very nice stuff, Im just not a huge cherry beer fan.

Bottle. [thank you, madmitch76]
Pours lightly muddy deep red with a fine, staying, frothy, off-white to pink head. Aroma has lots of marzipan, fresh cherries, red apples, light tartness, tangerine, caramel malts. Medium carbonation, fine lightly prickly carbonation. Flavour is quite sweet, cherries are fresh and quite prominent. Sweet, but not cloying. Lovley spicy note with pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon. Quite dry in the finish with the marzipan shining through. Quite lovely and drinkable, but a top 50 beer? Not really.

750 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with brentfeesh. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a thin-moderate off-white head that disappeared after a quarter of the glass and left a fairly complex network of lace webbing. Very pleasant aroma of fresh cherry with some malt peaking through as well. The cherry in the flavor is even more intense than the aroma and is fairly sweet but is not cloying nor does it taste like cough medicine. Effervescent and lively on the palate, which I think keeps the cherry bright and light. There is a subtle spice flavor in the aftertaste of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Delicious!

Dark red with basically no head at all. Extremely sweet and rich artificial cherry aroma with notes of freshly baked cake. Flavour is full, generous and also very "cherry sweet" but with (thank god) a balancing nice tartness. After overcoming the sweetness I find notes of cookie crumbs, light milk chocolate and earthy notes. Has a very longlasting somewhat dry finish and a lovely full body to go with the generous amount of flavour in there.

It goes really good with homemade apple pie that my girlfriend made AND NONE OF YOU CAN HAVE ANY - I like this better than Founders’ Cerise - its less sweet, more carbonated, and slightly more funky - nice subtle touch of hoppiness. smell is a little funky too. Cherry flavor is delicious - slight sour sweet. Great beer.

2008 bottle which we drank at the UJs bottle share. (thanks Tom). Pours cloudy brown with little head and lacing. Nose strong with cherry, first sip is stong with brown malt but cherry Luden Cough Drop flavor is strong.. Sour Cherries and tartness permeate nicely. Finish is still sweet with cherries and slightly oaky flavor but not over powering.
