Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours a hazy reddish with thin head. Aroma of fresh baked cherry pie, cherry juice, and a little bit of mustiness. The aroma is almost addictive. I couldn’t stop smelling it. The flavor is more sweet natural cherries followed by a little tartness. Perhaps a little more must and some funky wheat, and a touch of spice. Finishes a little tart with some lingering dryness and cherry flavor. Lively carbonation. Medium body. I got to get some more of this. Happy 1000 to me!

Very strong scent of cherries. Not the fake colored cherries that you buy in a jar, but the scent of real cherries. Very smooth going down. Almost tastes like a soda with alcohol. This is a fruit beer that I would purchase again if I could find it.

As a general rule, i dont care for fruit beers. I typically avoid them. Ross pulled this out and said I would like. He was right. Pours out a nice cloudy red color with a decent pink head. aroma is full of cherries and sweetness. Flavor is the same. i was expecting it to be rather tart, but it wasnt. damn fine beer!

75 cl bottle. Maraschino cherries aroma with mint. Sweet, sugary, almost syrupy cherry flavor. Marzipan. Sweet indeed, but somewhat vinous and liquor-like. Some lemony sourness. A bit too sweet, but actually quite nice.

Jan. 2006 - I don’t really like fruity beers. They should either taste like beer with just a TAD of fruit or be so fruity that you can barely tell that it is a beer. This fell in the latter category. Aroma and flavor was like fizzy cherry soda, maybe a touch of wheat thrown in.
