Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pure cherry aroma and flavor. Like a glass of cherry pie, with hints of the stone in the aroma. Pretty much just like delicious, delicious cherry juice.

Very sweet, a great fruit beer. Definitely would buy again but not to drink by myself much too sweet and should be shared. Girls like this beer much more than any other I have ever seen.Would buy again for sure

I was so pumped to try this, I had it in the cellar less than a day before I gave myself an excuse to open this gem. Pours a translucent, nearly opaque, deep ruby color with a foamy white head that quickly disappears. Aroma is of sour fruits, sugar, candy, life savers. Flavor is all tart fruit, rasberry, cherry, sweet, sour, lemon. My only complaint would be that I expected more beer flavor, more malt please? Also, the Hallertau hops are tough to notice until the very end when you get some hop bitterness around the mouth. Finish is great, goes down very easy and it’s smooth. This beer is clearly about the fruit, but the cherries aren’t so sweet you feel like you’re drinking KoolAid. The fruit is subtle, as subtle as you can get from a fruit beer. Great beer, so unique but also very drinkable. Too bad I had to have a friend pack it in their suitcase and fly it back from Wisconsin to DC for me.

Simply delicious. Not as immediate as other fruit beers, New Glarus Raspberry Tart for example. But that’s why it works so well, the tart cherry flavor sneaks up on you midway through. Has a distinct hoppy character too, which works perfectly with the fruitiness. A complex beer. Wow.

Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - my bottle obtained from HogTownHarry. Hazy orangey-red with a wispy pink head. Aroma reminded me of cherry cough syrup at first, and my wife smelled cherry Life Savers - but once it set for a few minutes, we all agreed that it smelled like a fresh baked and delicious cherry pie. Same with the flavour - a bit medicinal at first, but then the cherry pie notes kicked in... mmmm, this is damn good!

Poured a red-brown color with white head that had little lacing. Smell is of tart cherries. Taste is full of cherries, very tart, as it warms it even started to taste like a cherry cobbler with a bit of yeasty breadlike flavors coming through. Mouthfeel was medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Beer was quite drinkable, and I can’t wait to have more. Edited from: 4.5, 4, 5, 4, 4

Pours a rusty looking murky red with a nice pink head that takes its time. Smells mildly tark, the cherries come out to play along with some sweetness. Taste is mostly the sweet cherries, mildly tart with a smooth finish. Medium in the mouth, flat on the finish and a sipping fruit beer to enjoy.

750mL bottle. This is a pretty awesome beverage, but probably the least beer-tasting beer that I have had that is actually this good. Pours a deep garnet red with a medium pinkish-white head. Aroma is very vinous, full of dark cherries, and very sweet. Flavor is sweet cherries with a slightly slick mouthfeel. This is a great beer, but I’d like it to be a bit lighter bodied and more carbonated. An awesome brew that I wish I had regular access to. Delicious.
