Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Huge thanks to tytoanderso for the bonus
Pours a rich, murky maroon color with a creamy pinkish hued fluffy head. Smell is a great big rich fresh sour cherry aroma. Thick, full mouthfeel especially for a fruit beer. Taste is slightly mouth puckering sour cherry tartness. Very fresh and enjoyable. A touch acidic and very reminiscent of a certain sour cherry juice I grew up with. Finishes with a touch of drying almost tanniny experience and a touch of barley grains letting you know this is still a brewed beer. Overall an amazingly drinkable and delicious drink that went perfectly with Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks so much Tyler!

750 from pantanap - thanks, Kan! Man, this is one killer beer that more than lives up to its reputation. An enormous aroma is the first thing you notice (though the lively pour is impressive, as is the deep ruby body, almost wine dark in the right light). Fresh, fresh cherries, nothing sticky or over-sweet, just a lovely kriek balance and tartness. The body is slightly more than medium, which suits the thickness of the flavors well, as well as the creamy finish. Must . . . get . . . more.

Hazy red body with an orange shine, big off-white to pink not to well lasting head; Incredible nose, huge, fresh, deep and complex, a super beautiful real complex cherry fruity sweetness is balanced by a fresh acidy fruity touch; Super complex body with a great soft bubbled carbonation yet bitting, slight unripe friuty acidity touch and a CLEAR complexity that I have never ever experienced in a US beer before, the only drawback is a little fat flat sweetness that is apparent in all the NG beers I have tasted; This fat flat sweetness is way to apparent in the finish along with a fat vanilla cinnamon aroma (that is also VERY NG) that somehow seems to cover the expected complexity, a little bitting fruity acidity helps a bit as well as quite a bit of fresh cherry aroma. AMAZING beer with only a few small "errors" (in my opinion) that hinders this beer from being perfect. Thanksa billion iowaherkeye, please make it a happit sending me a bottle of Belgian Red in every of our future trades.

A huge thanks to boboski for giving a bottle of this to me. I had heard so much about this beer, and it did live up to the hype. This poured a ruby red color with a thin light pink head that dissipated quickly. The aroma is of freshly picked sweet cherries just oozing out of the glass. It is just an amazing smell like the cherries were just picked and put in my glass. It has no medicinal smells whatsoever, which is how it should be. The taste is all sweet, fresh cherries with a nice tartness and subtle carbonation to it. Each sip leads me to wanting more. It is medium bodied that is lightly carbonated which helps with the cherry flavor. The finish is sweet like cherry pie. This is an awesome fruit beer. Just an amazing treat and experience this is. I need to get more fo this. Thanks again Jason for this one.

Oh what a beer. Great inviting aromam you could not smell this and not have some. Reddish color with a big head that quickly disappears. Strong cherry flavor mixes the tartness and sweetness of the fruit very well. Unlike a lot of fruity beers it feels very natural and not artifical.

750ml bottle. Pours an orangish-red with little head and evident carbonation. Aroma is rich and full, dominated by the sweet tartness of cherries and perhaps just the slightest hints of malt and yeast -- utterly unique among beers. Body is medium and smooth with an initial tart-but-sweet flavor of cherries that fills the mouth and tongue. This initial flavor gives way to a lingering finish where sweet and very complimentary flavors of spice and cider join the cherry for a truly amazing flavor. Simply one of the best.

Hook it up to my veins! Quite possibly one of my favorite beers of all time, the tart balance with a slightly sweet twinge at the end makes this an absolutely irresistible aperatif.

Aroma is spectacular and invigorating. Intense cherries. Flavor is cider-like. Very tart cherry flavor, but well balanced. Taste really dances on your tongue. Cherry flavor is not so overwhelming that its too sweet to continue drinking. Slightly spice/burnt flavor that is mixed with a bitey-tart cherry flavor to create a warming delicious drink that pushes the limits of beer. Highly recommended, would get again.
