Poured hazy reddish brown color an average fizzy off-white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Heavy dark cherry fruit aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Solid complex dark fruity flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Standout drinkable fruit beer. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA

Lienies has mad me hate fruit...Summer Shandy..case in point. Had this at the brewery. THis is unlike any fruit beer i have ever had. The real door cty cherries make the differnce im guessing. You wouldnt be able to drink to much of this, as it would be overpowering, but a nice flute of it would hit the spot at times. I still feel just a little gay when drinkin it though? biermensch (64), USA

The Belgian Red quickly became a weekend guilty pleasure. The amazing cherry flavor is big and vibrant, but not cloyingly sweet. Hugely refreshing and drinkable. mcbackus (738), Merritt Island, Florida, USA

When poured, the color is an enchanting ruby brow. Aroma brings me to Summer, with the smells of fresh cherry pies wafting carelessly through the air, drawing me in deeper in. Cherries are definitely the star here, but seem to share the stage with a slight vanilla aroma, amazing. I could smell this beer all night. The flavor is glorious, tart cherries and a touch of sourness run rampant. This beer is better than I ever remember it being. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2007 Deep ruby color - light & thin head. Strong aroma of cherry, raspberry, and very tart. Flavor is boldly sweet, bordering on cloying - strong fruit presence, slightly syrupy and tart without being puckering. Well done, but probably not something I could drink a lot of at one sitting. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 10, 2007 This beer offers lots of big cherry flavor, replete with a puckering mouthfeel of cherry sourness. It is good, but I can’t help but feel highly over-rated. It offers a cherry tartness so rich, I feel like Pac-Man (level one) when drinking it. I would almost prefer something a bit more understated and nuanced, like the Lindemans kriek. Still, I love sour, so it is difficult for me to badmouth this beer.
Its color was not as pleasant as I expected (more of a red brown than a brilliant ripe-fruit red), and aroma was just so-so, but that flavor was a big punch of flavor that I really enjoyed. prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
