Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

25 oz bottle, via 1FastSTi. Pours a murky reddish colored body, almost bordering on brown, with a small pink tinged head. Tart sour cherry aroma is just amazing. Just like taking a whiff of fresh cherry pie filling with that balance of tart cherry and sweet goopy syrup. Notes of cherry pits and some yeast as well. Great sour cherry flavor up front with a smack of tartness in the finish. The finish also had some chocolaty and fresh oak notes. Medium bodied with lively carbonation that refreshes the palate after every sip. This is a truely World Class beer. I didn’t think that this was overly complex, actually I think it’s rather up front with it’s beauty. Though it did become a little more vinous over the 2 hours spent drinking this glass, the first sip revealed it’s greatness. You don’t have to work very hard to see the full potential of this beer.

Courtesy of a trade from Monger. Pours a cloudy cherry-brown, with a slightly pink head showing good retention. Fantastic tart-cherry aroma in the nose; some funk and whispers of vanilla; reminiscent of cherry cola. Full, sweet-and-sour mouthfeel; with the tartness balancing out a sweet cherry core. The cherry character is fresh, tart, layered, and without the stale overtones I caught from NG’s Cherry Stout. A phenomenal fruit beer that offers a great deal while keeping its balance. Thanks James!

Bottle 2005 - thanks a lot to Eyedrinkale and Mkobes for bringing this treasure over and sharing with us! Nice red colored with a medium white head. Cherry tart nose - very intense and pleasuring. Smooth cherry taste - like Black Forest Cake Cherries. Refreshing - with a nice dry finish. Love it!

Absolutely incredible. Aroma and main flavor influence is obviously cherry - Medium sour, perfectly balanced with sweetness - the cherries are more maraschino than bing. Subtle oak notes mixed in with spices at the finish. I thought that maybe it would become too cloying, but the balance of sourness kept that from happening. I would've liked more of this one - it quickly disappeared as it got passed around the table.

Bottle pours reddish caramel with a pinkish hued milky head.   Definate cherry in the nose, hints of graham cracker.   Smells like a damn cherry pie!   Tart cherries up front, light oak blends in at the middle, finishing with a smooth sourness.   Some slight smokiness.   Yeah, this is tasty!   Good mouthfeel, full bodied, with a dry finish.   Clean, crisp, and very flavorful.   I'd have this one again for sure!   Thanks goes out to TChrome for the trade!

Hazy medium red w/ ok head. Aroma is big fruity cherry and floury wheat. Big juicy cherry up front, tart finish. Very active carbonation tingles the tongue and complements the cherry acidity nicely.

This elixir pours into the glass with a cloudy amber brown body topped by a meidum thick head with a good amount of lacing. WOW! What an aroma! The cherry in the nose in just incredible. I love this beer just from the aroma. WOW, Again! The flavor is amazing. Cherry, malt and a slight sourness, that mixes so well! Medium bodied and smooth yet dry.
