Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Poured a nice ruby red color with a thin head that laced ok. The mouthfeel was rather carbonated with a light to medium body. Aroma was rich and really nice. Lots of cherries and some vanilla. Flavor was much of the same with some wheaty character behind it all. Lacking the lambic funk I like in beers this fruity, but still rather excellent. Definitely have to approach this differently than the average beer.... Boy, I’d like some cheesecake to go along with this.

Bottle: Poured a clear light pink/red color ale with a huge bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of delicate sweet cherries is enchanting; I could spend hours smelling this beer. Taste is perfect with nice balance mix between naturally sweet cherries and malt. Subtle sourness at the end brings everything together for a perfect close. Carbonation is perfect for a fruit beer as well as carbonation and level of sweetness. Truly the best fruit beer I ever tasted.

Bottle from Tim. Thanks. Hazy brownish red with a slight fizzy white head. Huge cherry aroma with some vanilla and caramel notes. Taste is cherry, cherry, and more cherry with slightly vanilla and oak finish. It’s an interesting beer; I think my wife liked it more than I did.

This elixir pours into the glass with a cloudy amber brown body topped by a meidum thick head with a good amount of lacing. WOW! What an aroma! The cherry in the nose in just incredible. I love this beer just from the aroma. WOW, Again! The flavor is amazing. Cherry, malt and a slight sourness, that mixes so well! Medium bodied and smooth yet dry.

[GABF, Denver Co - 2006] A great beer to drink. A bright reddish brown color with no head. This had tons of flavor. A deep cherry flavor with the strong Alcohol this was a true treat to drink. A strong cheery presences with over one pound of cherries for each bottle. This was a GABF find.

A cloudy, ruby red body foreshadows the explosion of cherries that is to come. A foamy, cream colored head is quickly fleeting, leaving virtually no lacing in its wake. The nose is a virtual cherry bomb, fresh, red, ripe and juicy. It smells intensely sweet, with just a touch of oak there to lend it some edge. The flavor is downright magnificent. The cherries seem so fresh and juice, its almost unbelievable. Surprisingly, the oaky vanilla asserts itself quite a bit, as does a somewhat lactic creaminess. Its almost unfathomable that this is actually a beer, as it drinks more like a cream soda blended with fresh cherry juice. Medium bodied and sweet, this one sports a fine but lively carbonation. This could definitely be an excellent gateway beer, as its appeal would certainly be broad. For what it is, this is excellent.

750ml, pours beautiful deep red with little head that doesn’t last. nose if bursting with cinnamon and cherries. flavor starts with really sweet cherries and cinnamon but finishes with loads of sour cherries. after awhile i start tasting some cherry cough syrup quality to it, perhaps sweet cherries and alcohol but it’s still an amazing beer that packs more fruit flavor than anything i’ve had before. mouthfeel is full and carbination is a tad fizzy. it’s either the sweetness or maybe some acidity but i can never drink that much of this stuff. a truly amazing and unique beer but it’s never been my thing and i rarely think about it.

Poured cherry red with thin red head...smelled of butter and pastry...tasted rich and delicious...I don’t like cherries and I don’t like fruit beer, for that matter I don’t like sweet things....this was great...I couldn’t drink more than 1 glass, but it tasted like a cherry fried pie...
