Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Bottle courtesy of 1fasti. Ruby red pour with a small light pink head. Aroma, cherries, cherries and cherries, some sugars. Someone said it reminded them of a Capri Sun fruit drink. Flavor, had a serious fermented cherry taste to it, a little tart, nice and smooth. Really good, and incredibly drinkable. A great after dinner beer.

Huge thanks to tytoanderso for the bonus
Pours a rich, murky maroon color with a creamy pinkish hued fluffy head. Smell is a great big rich fresh sour cherry aroma. Thick, full mouthfeel especially for a fruit beer. Taste is slightly mouth puckering sour cherry tartness. Very fresh and enjoyable. A touch acidic and very reminiscent of a certain sour cherry juice I grew up with. Finishes with a touch of drying almost tanniny experience and a touch of barley grains letting you know this is still a brewed beer. Overall an amazingly drinkable and delicious drink that went perfectly with Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks so much Tyler!

Thanks to Ross or Craig I think they brought it to the Spring(ish) tasting in Knoxville. A hard cherry aroma from a deep rich red pour. A very cherry, cherry flavor that was just incredible. Anyone who says they don’t like fruit beers should try this one. Carbonation was excellent. I can’t say enough about it. It is the wifes favorite craft beer now.

Bottle from Ughsmash. Pours a very dark ruby color. No head. Lovely sweet cherry aroma. Like fresh cherries. Full mouthfeel. Delicious cherry flavor that is both tart and sweet. Finish is really kind of spicy/prickly. Very tasty. Very hard to put down once you start sipping. The different extremes of sweet and sour give your mouth an awesome sensation.

Courtesy of Fishingnet. Pours deep red/ruby with white head. Aroma is loaded with fresh cherries. Taste is fantastic. New Glarus has outdone itself on this one. Fresh cherries all over with a light tart note. Perfect mix between the hops and malts, making the beer not too bitter. Highly drinkable. Something you will want to sip on and enjoy for a while. Rerate update. Enjoyed some more of this beer, and truly is an amazing experience. New Glarus has hit the target with the best cherry beer that remains enjoyable, drinkable from beginning to end. Pure goodness.

750 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with brentfeesh. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a thin-moderate off-white head that disappeared after a quarter of the glass and left a fairly complex network of lace webbing. Very pleasant aroma of fresh cherry with some malt peaking through as well. The cherry in the flavor is even more intense than the aroma and is fairly sweet but is not cloying nor does it taste like cough medicine. Effervescent and lively on the palate, which I think keeps the cherry bright and light. There is a subtle spice flavor in the aftertaste of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Delicious!

Oh what a beer. Great inviting aromam you could not smell this and not have some. Reddish color with a big head that quickly disappears. Strong cherry flavor mixes the tartness and sweetness of the fruit very well. Unlike a lot of fruity beers it feels very natural and not artifical.
