Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

murky red pour with a thin off white head. cherries and a slight tartness on the nose. very smooth cherry flavor that is quite refreshing. a brief tartness kicks in at the finish but overall this is damn tasty.

Aroma is marachino cherries, cherry pie filling and crust. This aroma is a desert beer if I’ve ever smelled on. Body is ruby/brown with a nice 1/4 inch cream head. Taste is very nice, cherry pie, nice and tart with some caramel light in the background. Thanks Santa!

This beer has it all! Pours orange with a wonderful red hue. Thick off white head and beautiful lacing. Excellent fresh cherry aroma flavor following suite. This beer is perfectly balanced between sour & sweet.!!! This is the best fruit beer i’ve ever tasted

Re-Rate 11/27/2004 Murky reddish body. Lasting pink head. The aroma is massive cherry. Revisiting this beer think that my initial exhuberence was a bit high. The flavor is totally cherry some light wheaty malt, but mainly cherry. I want to like it but it somehow does not mesh. It is too disjoint for me. The flavors are good but the sum is less than the parts.

Old Rating 8/4/8/3/17 - 4.0 Very nice red body with a lovely, creamy, rocky, red hued head that clings to the glass in great sheets. The aroma of cherries is evident the minute the cap is popped. The flavor is extraordinary, cherries are dominatn at first then a new level of complexity opens up as sweet malt and even some hops. The body is medium and quite lively with a very strong cherry aftertaste that manages to not where out its welcome or become cloying. A very unique and very good beer.

Trade with brewblackhole. Pours an amber red with a thin creamy light pink head. the aroma is very sweet/tart cherry, with some spice notes and hints of vanilla. The flavor is very tart/sweet cherry. Tastes just like a cherry pie. The palate is crisp and carbonated. The finish is tart.

Bottle sampled with Stegosaurus. Pours orange\brown with a white head. Aroma of cherries, malt, and wood. Flavor is sweet, cherry-like, slight wood flavor with carbonation and a slight tart finish.

Bottle from 1FastSTi - thanks. This pale red beer poured with a modest pinkish head that dissipated quickly, eliciting a distinct cherry aroma. The flavor is much sweeter than I anticipated and just slightly tart, with a cinnamon finish. Now I have tried to make my own kriek in the past, so I can really appreciate the skill it took to create the mellow cherry flavor. This is truly a unique brew that is a pleasure to drink.
