| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2004 Updated: Dec 3, 2004Re-Rate 11/27/2004 Murky reddish body. Lasting pink head. The aroma is massive cherry. Revisiting this beer think that my initial exhuberence was a bit high. The flavor is totally cherry some light wheaty malt, but mainly cherry. I want to like it but it somehow does not mesh. It is too disjoint for me. The flavors are good but the sum is less than the parts.
Old Rating 8/4/8/3/17 - 4.0 Very nice red body with a lovely, creamy, rocky, red hued head that clings to the glass in great sheets. The aroma of cherries is evident the minute the cap is popped. The flavor is extraordinary, cherries are dominatn at first then a new level of complexity opens up as sweet malt and even some hops. The body is medium and quite lively with a very strong cherry aftertaste that manages to not where out its welcome or become cloying. A very unique and very good beer. emacgee (1891), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Bottle from 1FastSTi - thanks. This pale red beer poured with a modest pinkish head that dissipated quickly, eliciting a distinct cherry aroma. The flavor is much sweeter than I anticipated and just slightly tart, with a cinnamon finish. Now I have tried to make my own kriek in the past, so I can really appreciate the skill it took to create the mellow cherry flavor. This is truly a unique brew that is a pleasure to drink.
