Aroma is cherries with some candi sugar and Belgain yeast. Flavor is all about the cherries. Its like drinking the best cherry pie you ever had in your life. Super deep cherry with some sweetness and ends very doughy. Probalby one of the best fruit beers i have ever had. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

I’ve been saving this for a while waiting for just the right occasion to pop this puppy open and enjoy it. Well, finally tonight I found a worthy event to commemorate and brought this out of my cellar - woohoo! As I poured this garnet colored brew into a champagne flute, I was struck by it’s clarity, plentiful bubble streams and fine pinkish head. I was also struck by the aroma of pie cherries. Sticking my nose into the glass, the tart cherry smell increased exponentially and dominated my olfactory sensors, but in the background I could also detect light hoppy and woody notes as well. The flavor is again almost overpowering with sweet and tart cherry, but it’s softened a bit by a rich wheat and barley malt character, and made more complex with hints of yeastiness, mellow wood and earthy notes. Body is light to medium with a generous amount of carbonation, not quite champagney in character, but still nicely assertive on the tongue. Overall a delicious treat of a beer! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Thin off-white to light pink head of fine bubbles. Decent carbonation. A very nice exhaltation of carbonation upon opening the bottle. Delicious ripe sour cherry aroma. Smells just like a cherry pie. Light malts and maybe a bit of crust, ha ha. Color is a cloudy dark ruby brown. Delicious flavor. Loads of cherries, and sweet fruit. Little fizzy in the mouth. If you like cherries then you are going to love this brew. Succulent with just a bit of tartness to get the saliva flowing. Extreamly easy drinking. Finishes sweet and slightly tart with a lingering cherry flavor. A fruit feast in a bottle. This brew is really hitting the spot. Fantastic! Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 14, 2003 I don’t understand or agree wtth the style designation. This seems to be a wheat malt fruit beer. Exceptional cherry taste; nice balance between tart and sweet. Beer components are difficult to get to given the intense amount of fruit, but they are there (some wheat sourness, malt plumps up the body). Definitely yummy, but somehow escapes beerness overall, thus I echo booyaatribes’s comments. Thanks awaller05! rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 8, 2005 Deep reddish-amber hue, with red-pinkish colored head, cherries, cherries!, hint of chocolate like the famous black forest cake, roasted malt aroma follows through on a medium-bodied cherryish palate, with sweet fresh juicy cherry flavor, with a sweet tart acidity, hint of chocolate, caramelized malt and a almondy note on the finish. An exceptional beer wow!!!!!!!! Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA

I am not usually fond of fruit beers, but this is the kind of beer that can change my mind about the style. The pour is a dark amber, it looks like strong iced tea. There is a head that quickly fades into a ring around the flute. The nose is of cherry pie without the buttery crust smell. The taste is strong of (of course) cherry, with secondary notes of carbonation and a little malt. It took me awhile to put my finger on it, but I can describe the cherry taste and smell perfectly: it smells/tastes like canned cherry pie filling, or fried cherry pie (if you are from the south you know what I mean). The finish is a little bitter, almost salty. This is an overall excellent beer. I would not make it my everyday beer, but it is an EXCELLENT beer off the beaten path. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 22, 2006 Thanks to dhrjericho for this one. - Pours a muddy, murky reddish brown color. Aromas of cherries, almonds. Flavor is a subdued tart cherry taste, not a big as I expected. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. This is a great beer. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2003 While I liked this, I never expected such high ratings for it. It was a pinkish amber color with bubbles, white head. Like a sparkling rosé wine. Definite cherry aroma and flavor. Was, to me, like drinking cherry soda. Very good but not spectacular as others seem to think it.
