Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Pours muddy red, with a quickly fading pale pink head. Carbonated like a champagne. Awesome natural tart cherry aroma. Full bodied with a lively carbonation and earthy texture. Huge and rich caramel maltiness that wonderfully complimented by a intense flavor of cherry. The cherry flavor has the perfect balance between tart and sweet. I also pick up some almond like nuttiness. Finish is slightly fizzy and very acidic. I can’t think of any way to improve on this. This is a world class fruit beer, and it’s US made. If you like cherries and fruit beers, this is close to perfection in my opinion.

While I liked this, I never expected such high ratings for it. It was a pinkish amber color with bubbles, white head. Like a sparkling rosé wine. Definite cherry aroma and flavor. Was, to me, like drinking cherry soda. Very good but not spectacular as others seem to think it.

750 from pantanap - thanks, Kan! Man, this is one killer beer that more than lives up to its reputation. An enormous aroma is the first thing you notice (though the lively pour is impressive, as is the deep ruby body, almost wine dark in the right light). Fresh, fresh cherries, nothing sticky or over-sweet, just a lovely kriek balance and tartness. The body is slightly more than medium, which suits the thickness of the flavors well, as well as the creamy finish. Must . . . get . . . more.

Many thanks to MIBRomeo, my "secret" Santa for this special brew. Pours a slightly hazy red with a pinkish/yellow head. Very loaded with cherry flavors. Medium sourness with a lower sweetness. Strong and quite peppery. High carbonation. Winey. Sour, bitter cherry-finish. This beer tastes like a mix of cold cherry sauce and cherry wine. Certainly a special and well made beer but why this figures on the top 50 list is beyond me.

Thanks BBB63. Served in my Lindemans flute. Pours very murkey and muddy orangy-red with a tightly bubbled creamy pinkish head. You can smell the tartness and acidity of the cherries. Very nice. Some yeastiness. Absolutly spectacular flavor. Sweet up front. Tart at the end. Slight drying affect. Full luscious body. Lively carbonation. I bet I could get in a lot of knickers with this beer.

Muddy, reddish body with a whispy white head. The aroma is lots of cherries, some sour notes as well. The flavor is moderately sweet, a touch sour, cheeries, vanilla, caramel and a hint of lemons. When the beer is allowed to warm up, a hint of chocolate begins to comes through. Champange mouthfeel, light and lively. Super stuff.

Bottle courtesy of Styles with much thanks!!! This is just a superb beer. Pours a deep rubyish color. Head has pinkish hues. The head fades to a thin layer and leaves very nice lacing. Aroma is purely cherry. Sweet and tart to the nose. Lighter bodied. Flavor is also fully of the cherries, a fruit I am not overly fond of. This plays so well in this beer though. Yes, I could drink this day in and out and be very happy.
