Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Yep, liked it. Extremely fresh. Soft texture, with a wonderfully lightly tart, soft, natural cherry sourness. Never candyish, always natural (except the aroma kinda smelled like lollypops or soemthing). Mix the cherrys in with some light oak and mayne some nuttyness. If i had one complaint it would be that its not assertive enough (more sour, more stink), but hey, the balance couldn’t really be any better right? Glad to share this with Ecz and Motelpogo. Re-rate: Lots o marzipan in the aroma, and i take away the thing about the lollypops in the aroma, this is just a wonderful beer, perfectly balanced between sweet and tart. Yummy.

red-brown colour, complex aroma (cherry, cinnamon and almond), acidity, sparkling, full-bodied, sour with slightly too much carbonation, long aftertaste (chocolate and cherry)

750 ml bottle with wax sealer-thanks to the transport from Rutgers 6 months ago to Wisconsin and his girlfriend for sharing. Aroma is cherry, taste follows, OK carbonation, good body, a bit of hops, good finish. A bit like a good cherry pie meets a nice beer. Nice taste.

Reddish, amber colour with a very small head. Very sweet aroma and flavor with a cloyingly marzipan note. Faintly tart finish.

Little head left, over amber-red beer. Fruity, syrupy nose, like an (older), slightly ripened sweet Liefmans kriek. Sour-sweet taste, with fruity sourness, definitely cherries, but somehow not 100% naturally tasting. In the finish, clear cherry syrup, or laid-up sugared cherries. Palate is too syrupy to be fully enjoyable as a fruitbeer, medium bodied. Despite the harsh words above, it is still better than remembered from the first encounter, now +/- 15 years ago - then it was a kind of BelleVue Kriek experience.

Red-brown coloured. Aroma of cherries and marzipan. Very sweet and concentrated, but natural cherry flavour. Highly carbonated.

Pours red with a smallish white head. Smells of cherries and licorice with some farmlike hay qualities. Tastes of cherries, but not too tarte. Slightly sweet and sugary on the finish.

This genuine, thick cherry pie filling is laced with an elegant but never overpowering spicy sourness...The authenticity of its sweetness will make you feel the cherry skins as you devour its stellar heartiness...Also ideal as a dessert with black forest cake or as a coulis on your favorite game steak...
