Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Aroma is a bright tart cherry scent. Color is a deep red with mellow carbonation and a thin pink head. It starts with a lighter medium body that goes down smooth. Finish is like drinking a cherry turnover, it has a bold fresh cherry taste with a sweet pastry and yeast like flavor. After taste follows this leaving you feeling like you just had some cheery pie. This is an amazing brew, its a true dessert beer.

bottle.....aroma: sweet, tart and a big burst of cherries coming through the nose....appearance: resembling apple juice only a little bit darker. a slight existence of head but really almost non noticeable....taste: sweet, sour tart cherries, sugary but not off-putting......excellent excellent fruit beer as others have attested to. i’m in total agreement.

Rating #800, bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR. Thanks! Pours a weird color that looks like blood plasm with a small cream colored head. Murky and swirling. Nose is tomatoes, pie cherries, and sugar. Taste is exactly like a cherry pie or a cobbler. Cherries all over your face and there is a nice bread like sweet desert component. This beer is good but its somewhat one dimensional even though that dimension is delicious cherry pie.

The beer pours a ruby red, almost maroon, with a small white head. The aroma is almost all tart cherries, with a bit of malt. The taste is so perfectly balanced: tart and sweet. Smooth, delicious, dry, easy drinking. I don’t normally like fruit beers, but this is excellent.

Dark cherry red color. Well, pretty much like a cherry ginger ale. It’s really more sweet than tart or sour, which makes it much more easy to drink. Some more dark notes to balance out the cherries would be nice. However, it is a hugely flavorfull beer.

Pours a turbid, cloudy red with a modest cap of white head that settles with some nice lace. It looks sort of unpolished, but it also looks delicious. Aromas of vanilla, angelfood cake, ripe sour cherries, raspberry jam. All sorts of delightful things that not only smell wonderful as seperate components, but also as a lively and harmonious whole. Amazing contrast of dense sweetness and layers of puckering sourness. Either on there own would be really weird, but together...music. As the glass progresses, the sweetness begins win the balance, creeping a bit into the finish. But that’s just nitpicking--this is a masterpiece. Nice sparkly wheat mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Why didn’t I get a whole case of this when I was at the brewery and had the chance? I guess this is the fourth time I’ve tasted this, and every time it numbs my brain with deliciousness.

Bottle many thanks to footbalm. Pours a deep red/orange with light red head. Delicious aroma of sweet juicy cherries, tart, caramel malt, and a hint of funk. Wow flavor is intense... cherries and more cherries. Sweet and tart, with hints of sweet malt. Great flavor, but slightly overpowering. Strongest flavored fruit beer I’ve had. Nice, smooth mouthfeel.
