| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 29, 2009 750ml bottle. Deep dark cherry red color. Nice head that fades out after a minute or so. Light faint cherry pie aroma. This has some of the most solid dark cherry flavors of any beer I’ve ever had. Practically cherry juice with a slight bitter edge. Absolutely delicious, the kind of beer I can sip on all day. On a side note, I think its funny that a beer like this is so revered and highly rated whereas Lindemans and other sweet Lambics get bashed and dismissed as non-authentic. zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 17, 2005 750ml bottle: As is the case with almost any tasting, I find myself being a very tough critic when there are so many great beers in one place. Inevitably one or two beers will separate themselves from the pack at some point. This was my favorite of the It’s no Montreal tasting. Cherry tinged brownish amber body with a large white head. The nose is just full of fresh cherries and spices, with a tiny hint of sweet wheat and malt in the background. The flavor just blew me away. There fresh cherries, cherry pie, spices, cream, and some nice wood flavors that don’t get in the way. I actually wrote not overpowering cherry pie twice in my tasting notes. Medium bodied, lively carbonation that just feels right to my palate. Wonderfully balanced between sweet cherries, spice(hops?) and a bit of sourness. I drank the leftovers from this the morning after the tasting, which still tasted good even when I swore I’d never drink again. Zinister (1207), Houston, Texas, USA

Nose is dominate of marischino cherries and tart candy...fantastic. Flavor is much the same. Well carbonated with a lingering finish. Thanks Kevin! OldMrCrow (1200), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a murky red with a small head. Cherry nose, mild tartness, cookie dough, light spices. Highly carbonated texture borders on prickly.
I’m initially taken aback by how sweet the beer is. It’s very much a fruit juice, enormous powerful cherry flavor, some sweet ’n sour ketchup. I certainly see the cherry pie comparison that everyone is making. We’ve got the sweet acidity of pie cherries with every bit of their flavor jammed into the beer, the light pie spices, even the flaky, slightly buttery, gently sweet crust. Definitely all of that going on. What is not going on is any sense of beer. There is nothing here that tells me this is a beer, no funk, no wildness, no dry tannic flavors, no musty interest. As a result I’m left disappointed by what is ultimately a very tasty soda pop. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2008 Pours an Elmo-red color with a shy, white head. Aroma is grenadine-like with a hint of spice and a pinch of bitterness. Flavor is very cherry with nuances of cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and a flick of sour. Lingering flavor is cherry sweetness. Amazingly complex fruit beer.
