Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Very good aroma, heavy with cherries. Golden-red color with a pinkish-red head. Taste isn’t as dominated with cherries as I would have thought. Very wheaty and carbonated. A very good Cherry Ale.

Wow, this is an amazing beer. Cloudy ruby red. No sediment in the bottle. Effervescent with a nice head. The label says over a pound of cherries in every bottle and I think this might be an understatement. Cherries permeate the aroma and flavor of this beer, although it’s far from one-dimensional. Nutmeg aroma and flavor. Some cinnamon. A little vanilla. Sweet. A little tartness. Very full bodied. This is a beer that I tasted with high expectations and I was not let down. One of my new favorites.

i cleaned my room the other day for the first time in 6 months and found my notes from tasting this a while back with duff and eczematic (the machine). plenty of marzipan, some oak and vanilla. faint tomato juice in the finish balances perfectly. even better than my own schitt kriek

color is a dull brick-red with a certain "greyish" quality to it...i know that doesnt make any sense, but tough luck, this is MY rating! very much an earthy quality to it. most excellent tart nose to it...s wonderful cherry/lemon mixture..also, i get kind of a heavy cheese nose to it as well. that wonderful cheesy/tartness also exists in the flavor. the excellent tartness remains on your cheeks for quite some time! this is truly a wonder ale and probably one of the biggest surprise beers to date for me!. all the wonderful tartness without all the cloying sweetness.

Rust colored, almost tomato juice in appearance. The aroma is fantastically balanced between sweet and tart. The flavor is simply fantastic. A brilliant carbonation that tickles the tongue and stimulates the palate. Fantastic.

Probably year old bottle.Hazy, dark cherry with a frothy, milky white, head.Great retintion and lacework.Aroma of cherries covered in sugar, slight woodiness.Palate is spritzy, properly thick, with a slight acidic tingle. Not as cold as usually drink this, tasting some cereal, flavor.Very hard to tell with all the cherry.Cherry pretty much dominates the tounge.Cherry skin like acidity toward finish is not overpowering.Finish has a hard to describe flavor, right now.Tastes earthy, dirty besides the obvious cherry lingering. As it warmed, the finish was smooth, nutty, with only slight cherry.Even though rating not to enthustiastic, one of my favorites.

This genuine, thick cherry pie filling is laced with an elegant but never overpowering spicy sourness...The authenticity of its sweetness will make you feel the cherry skins as you devour its stellar heartiness...Also ideal as a dessert with black forest cake or as a coulis on your favorite game steak...

What a fabulous beer. Reflects the region it is made as well as being a wonderful example of the style. Easily compares to any of the belgian krieks I’ve had. Wonderful after dinner.
