Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

If you like cherry, this is the beer for you. The bottle I had had a slightly different label than what is pictured here. A great, easy to drink fruit beer. Beautiful color.

A truly magical beer, poured dark red, with little head. Flavor was obviously cherry, but it had a nice spicy taste to it, my whole toungue danced with the first sip! Can’t wait to have again, my boss picked this up for me on a trip, Thanks lee!

I’ve been wanting to try this one for a really long time. Pours a cloudy red with a thin white pink head. Smells like a cherry or strawberry candy jolly rancher. Very tantilizing. Very candy sweet like the taste just like the smell. You get the huge cherry taste as I’m sure was intended for this beer. The flavor just explodes in your mouth and the aftertaste is quite big. Truly a delight.

750 ml bottle. .. Cloudy Red with light head. .. Fruity- big time cherries, sour - horsey /barnyard /brettanomyces aromas. .. Cherry pie flavors, tart and sour throughout. Amazing stuff. .. light body, medium carbonation. .. Incredible flavor combinations - Sour/fruity and quite wonderful.

Big thanks to moejuck!! This starts out incredible, bypasses awesome and enters into Elixer of the Gods territory. Aroma is subdued cherries, vanilla and malt. Appearance is slightly hazy red with a bit of brown. Mouthfeel is light and slightly fizzy. Flavors were just bursting with cherries and it was simply incredible. Slightly creamy, acidic, sweet, and tart. It was an excellent example of having a lot of different taste angles going on. If only more American breweries would take this excellent example and use it as a watermark. It could have been much better in the aroma and appearance but that’s nitpicky. Overall it was fantastic. Definitely worth the status.

What can I say? This beer is in it’s own class. It has the fruit of a lambic laid over the rich maltiness and yeastiness of a classic belgian style ale. I even detect a bit of bitter hops to balance the cherry sweet & sour notes. This is probably the best beer brewed in Wisconsin and rivals finest from Belgium, the UK or Michigan. If I could reimagine it to my own perfection it would have a tad more alcohol kick near the finish, but that’s quibbling with perfection.

Pours out a lively ruby red. Smell of tart but sweet cherries. Tastes like cherry cider. Very tart, semi sweet with a wonderful bitter kick at the end. Enjoyed this beer with my dad on Easter morning. What a great beer.
