Commercial Description:
Belgian Red is a tapestry of flavor. This beer is brewed with whole Montmorency Cherries, Wisconsin farmed wheat and Belgian roasted barleys, lagered in oak tanks and balanced by Hallertau hops we aged in our brewery one full year. Over a pound of Door County Cherries in every bottle makes this beer uniquely “Wisconsin.” So unique, in fact, that we applied for a patent. Expect this beer to be ruby red, with a medium body that is highly carbonated and intense with cherry flavor and bouquet.

Bottle GABF 02: IMHO the second best beer at GABF 02. Huge cherry aroma, syrupy mouthfeel, orange red color. Ends acidic and sour. Very tart and screams cherries the entire time and for several minutes after you are done. I had at least 5 samples of this one.

Wow, this aroma smells JUST LIKE my mom’s cherry pie. I will have to warn you that I LOVE cherries and there are few things I’d much rather have than my mom’s cherry pie. Sweet and tart cherries in the nose. Hazy amber color with red tints and a pink head. The start is very sweet cherries turning mildly sour. Gets a little more sour in the finish. Has some sweet malt tones to end. This has the perfect balance of the cherry sweetness and the cherry sourness. I wish I lived in Wisconsin! Don’t make me choose between this and Quelque Chose!

I will admit, I am not a fan of most ’fruit’ beers (except Lambics). This one changed my mind. It is fantastic. Dominated by a cherry pie aroma and backed up by spice and fuit from the beer the aroma is truly fine. Refreshingly tart with a fruity acidity that keeps the subtle sweetness from becoming cloying. Not just a real cherry character, but the character of the best cherries you have ever sucked of the pit. Remarkable.

This stuff is great. Great mix of beer and wine. Hard to drink more than a six pack worth, to sweet on the stomach. Overall though very tasty.

Massive cherry pie nose, sweet on the lips, some medicinal notes lurking underneath, long rich, cheww pie crust middle gives way to a long cherry, tangy, somewhat woodie and hoppy finish. One of a kind. near perfect beer.

Bottle courtesy of hopsmoker. Paired with a frikadelle and black cherry sauce at a Belgian-themed dinner at maltydogs. Great cherry aroma, sour and fruity. Cherry skins and sugar, acidic and sweet. Fresh macerated sour cherry. Reddish hazy with thin lacing pinkish head. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Great cherry taste, like fresh tart cherries and sour cherry pie filling. Ascorbic acid and cherry skin tannins. Great tartness throughout with mild bittering finish and tart fruity after.

Perfect aroma full of cherries...I can't imagine a more perfect cherry aroma. The color was an almost opaque reddish brown with a small beige head that left plenty of lace down the glass. The flavor was tart, sour, with a solid cherry core. The feel was very wet, carbonated, slightly heavy. Amazing beer.
