We popped it before heading to Wisconsin, and Im glad we did, because we liked it enough to stock up while we were there! Aroma is all sweet and sour cherry. No medicine or acidicness in the aroma at all. Flavor is much the same. Cherries, cherries, and more cherries. I dont see how a beer so dominated by cherries could be complex, but this one man ages it. Hint of hops and wood, and a touch of grains. This is an amazing beer, thanks again JCB! bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Poured a nice red color with small head which didn’t last but a few minutes. Aroma was perfect cherries and vanilla. Flavor was like a cherry creamcicle good blend of cherries and vinalla and some wheaty base. Mouthfeel was carbonated almost like sparkling cider. Good solid beer." It was a bit on the malty side taste-wise and definately closer to "beer" as far as taste than the New Glarus Raspberry Tart I had before this one. This is because its more balanced and the hops are more noticeable than with the Tart. The cherry flavor is definately there and this one was a favorite of my wife and many of the others who enjoyed Tidiaguy’s gathering last Saturday. Ughsmash (4060), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 7, 2005 Poured a deep ruby red with about 1 finger head that dissipated after about a minute. The Door County cherries really shine through on the nose. Beer is well-carbonated and almost champagne-like in the mouthfeel. Cherries and some subtle oak comprise most of the flavor. Aftertaste has more of those wonderful wonderful cherries. segfault (98), Centennial, Colorado, USA

It is hazy, and a bit carbonated, although the head doesn’t stay long. Aroma is beautiful cherries, malt, yeast, and tartness. In the mouth it delivers cherries, malt, nutty notes, perhaps a hint of woody oak, a slight, balanced tartness and honey. This is a fabulous beer. Glad I had the chance to sample it with alaskanwarren, thanks Hezron!

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 31, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at home. Harry gave me this bottle a couple of years ago. I’ve been struggling not to drink it ever since. I’m so glad I waited. This is utterly superb. The aroma has probably a little more raspberry than cherry but my god it’s glorious. Faint vanilla and angel cake too. Flavour, shit the bed, this is truly outstanding. It really does not drink like a beer. So much sweet, freshly picked glacé cherries and so much adorable marzipan. Effortlessly drinkable. Very sweet but with a delicate but oh so refined sour / tart finish. I’ve had this before and found it a little over the top sweet but with some age on it, it’s truly world class. So much finesse and poise. So much lip smacking flavour. This really is top drawer. I have half a glass left. Sod the notes, you know I’m loving this one. I’m off to spend some (all too brief) special time with what I have left. Isn’t that the story of our life fellas? mkgrenwel (420), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 2, 2007 Thanks to NFLMVP for trading me this bottle. Thick and rich in the mouth, but light on the tongue as well with the carbonation. Not tart at all, but has a certain wild bite to it. Very nice sweetness enhanced by, and enhancing, the massively beautiful fresh cherry flavor. Still, despite the lack of tartness or sourness, it finishes dry. Also a good amount of a flavor of mulled spices. Reminds me a good bit of apple cider. What apple cider would taste like with a huge cherry addition. I actually expected it to be far more tart and/or sour. If it were, this would be one of my absolute favorite beers, but I am a huge sucker for flemish sours. As it is, other than KRE, a fruit beer can’t get much better. Complex, rich, tasty.
