Just the right amount of tartness, creamy and rich mouthfeel, that is wonderful with food or with desert. Fills the palate with wonderful fruit flavors, and just the right amount of carbonation. Pours a murky reddish color with a sudsy head that is short lived and settles to patches. The aroma is not at all in your face with cherries as I might have expected, very nice, cherries, candi sugar, malt, a real nice scent that seems to pick up steam the more I smell it. Flavor is tart at first then a silky smooth cherry taste, but not a one dimensional cherry beer and at times I thought I was picking up some apple or pear as well. Malt content is definitely there to give it a nice creamy backing that compliments the tart flavor very well. The finish is just slightly cherry tart but subtle. Velvety and soft from start to finish, authentic flavors, or so it seemed to me, seemingly nothing artificial about this. Obviously very well crafted. Not at all hard to enjoy, so easy to drink and tasty. My wife liked this one as well so I shared with her. Thanks pfoxyjohn! sebletitje (1997), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours deep red/ruby with white head.
Aroma is loaded with fresh cherries.
Taste is fantastic. New Glarus has outdone itself on this one. Fresh cherries all over with a light tart note. Perfect mix between the hops and malts, making the beer not too bitter.
Highly drinkable. Something you will want to sip on and enjoy for a while.
Rerate update. Enjoyed some more of this beer, and truly is an amazing experience. New Glarus has hit the target with the best cherry beer that remains enjoyable, drinkable from beginning to end. Pure goodness. bookman10 (91), Osseo, Minnesota, USA

Intense, fruity aroma. Pours a nice coppery-red color with a significant carbonated head that quickly dies down. Sweet flavor of cherry that never gets too cloying or overdone. There’s just a hint of hops and grain in the background. Easily the best fruit beer I’ve tried and probably the best beer New Glarus is currently producing. mnoutdoors (2), Allover, Wisconsin, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Amazing fresh Cherry smell and taste. When you are looking for something different, this is it. Good sweetness but just enough tart to balance it out. iabeerguy (175), Iowa, USA

This one pours a definite reddish color. There was some haziness to the beer. It pours with a big head that drops to nothing almost immediately. There was some champagne-like fizzy carbonation that continued throughout. The nose is somewhat like a cherry pie, just not as sweet. It was sweet, sour and tart all at the same time. The taste was really nice. Cherries were the main component. They were somewhat tart, with some sweetness at the same time. Something of a medium malt body hiding back there. Very nice!
