Hazy straw golden pour with a one-finger thick head of off-white foam that lingered around for a bit. Slick lacing. The aroma was very bready with some hay and grass. Also some sweet pale malt. The flavor had fresh bread, grass, mineral water, and a hint of faint citrus at the end. Clean and subtle, also a bit rustic. Medium-bodied with crisp, refreshing carbonation. I would have this on hand regularly if it was available in my area.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a dense creamy foamy white froth. Aroma is quite appley, which is typical of of New Glarus’s lighter offerings, light grassy hoppiness and light sharp sweetness. Flavor is softly malty, light grassiness with fairly bitter upfront bitterness, lightly metallic, the malt sweetness and sharp apple is a bit too sweet, too much residual sweetness clashing oddly with the grassy bitterness. Medium/light bodied, with sparse sparkling soda carbonation, quick finish with a slight malty syrupiness. A very rare miss. BVery (674), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Thanks turdferguson for sharing. Pours a soft hazy yellow with a two finger sticky eggshell white head. The nose is bready, malty for sure, lager yeast, some hay, pretty pungent for a lager. Flavor is bready, sweet malt, some hay, earthy. I will also add that for some reason the combination of flavors in this beer reminded me inescapably of crayfish...That aside I really enjoyed it and would seek it out. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 22, 2009 First nose from the 12 oz bottle is yeast. Pours a fat, thick head floating on a dense and hazy yellow-orange glass of beer. This has a quick lager bite that offers a bit denser mouth feel than most and it does run a smooth, dry finish. Grain and yeast dominate through the middle of this mouthful and I am not as resistant to this beer as many of its style. I’d drink a glass of this on a summer afternoon but wouldn’t travel very far out of my way to get one.
