The aroma was sweet, spritzy and lightly fruity. The flavor was tangy, tart and a little bitter with light fruits underneath and a hint of a yeasty undertone. A bit disappointing. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bright yellow color, minimal haze, nice lacing. The first thing that comes across is the softness of the beer. Smooth and slightly sweet on the palate, with flavors of yeast, rye bread, and honey. A small bit of ripe fruit comes through as well. Overall, I would say this beer is pretty solid, one of the better American Tripels that I’ve had. Tripplebrew (496), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Pours a honey yellow with a thick white head that lasted a bit. Aroma was a bit of sweet apple. Taste of honey apple. Very sweet. Full body. It is smooth with a touch of bitterness. Decent tripel but not up there. Light gold in color, fruity in aroma. Sweet and fruity at first with a slightly bitter end. jspruit (113), Dublin, Ireland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 Got this from my brother when we met up for Thanksgiving in a 12oz bottle, although I’ve had it quite a few times previously in various forms. Pours a slightly hazy gold color with a pure white head that lasted a bit.
I think that it is a bit fruity & spicy upon first smell after pouring into the glass and then some malt & yeast tones come through-you get the feeling that it is a bit strong with some alcohol smells, but nothing overwhelming.
The fruitiness comes through initially upon taste after the smell and then the maltiness carries through as you taste it-I think that you can pick up a bit on the alcohol too, but not too much.
This isn’t a full beer to me, but there is plenty of taste and mouthfeel with some light carbonation & lacing in the glass as it goes down.
I think that this is a great New Holland beer and is very drinkable with plenty of taste and slightly dangerous as I could drink more and more of this!

The aroma is fruit and yeast, with a somewhat unpleasant vegetal note. The flavor is tangy lemon zest and lots of rich breadiness with a slight acidic twang to it. Then, uh oh, a hint of DMS... not enough to ruin it, but enough to distract me. The finish is wood and bread crust. This is ok. AOF (282), Naperville, Illinois, USA
