Rerated: 9/12/09 Not sure if I had a bad bottle before or what, but my second sampling of this beer proved much more enjoyable. Loved the malty sweetness and was blended well...Very good. Beerman6686 (1304), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Guess i was just hoping for more from a New Holland Tripel and was somewhat disappointed. LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Pour was a flat light gold with only a thin white ring for a head...unusual for a tripel. Taste was very sweet; sugar water with caramel and malt. No yeastiness, no real fruitiness. Not much carbonation. It does hide the alcohol VERY well. I will give it that. Boutip (2399), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Bottle courtesy of SS: Poured a clear and bright golden color ale with a big white foamy head with good retention and good lacing as well. Aroma of light peach with some sweet malt and light spice mix in the background. Taste is also a well balance mix between some light peaches, sweet malt and light spices (maybe some pepper) and a yeasty finish. Body is about average for the style with some great carbonation. Texture is not oily nor is sweetness cloying which was well appreciated. I thought this was very well done and probably underrated IMO. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 27, 2007 Clear golden coloured body with an orange tint and a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of strong alcohol, malt, hops, apricots, citrus, pit fruits and vanilla. Medium-bodied; Nice strong alcohol flavour with oak and vanilla coming through the strongest. Aftertaste shows pit fruits, oak, grapes, malt and a tiny bit of sweetness, but mostly dark and strong flavours. Overall, a good beer, not amazing - but good at hiding a lot of the truly ’tripel’ flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased over a year and a half ago at Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 28 August 2007. TimE (1364), Tokyo, Japan

The spicies I like in tripels simply weren’t there, but the full body and well hideen alcohol is well respected. Lots of cookies danced in my mouth at the finish and that can’t be a bad thing.
