| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Pours hazy golden into the glass, with a reductive soapy head that leaves sparse lace. The nose is of spices, yeast and candied sugars. The flavors have a lot of the candi sugars and hints of esters upfront, with some yeast hitting the mid-palate, and hints of alcohol and spices and bitter hops culminating the finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, with zesty carbonation levels. The body in comparison to the flavors going on, unfortunately, throws this one a little out of whack. It’s just not completely linear from beginning to end. Nice offering, just not top-tier. jodah52 (56), Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 26, 2009 A deep gold trippel with a small white head. Powerful flavors of candi sugar, with supporting bitterness. Sweet and bitter at the same time, with strong floral aromas. These aromas are the distinguishing feature of the beer; the result is quite good, though less than spectacular. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA
