Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Golden pour, huge white head. Aroma was amazing huge floral scents coming out from the tulips. Taste is pretty sweet, sugar, candy, honey, fruits like apple and pears. Sweet belgian malts and a nice subtle hop bite, finished by the aftertaste of the tulips which was cool. Good beer.

Bottle. Clear gold body with a sudsy white head. Smells of cereal, oranges, fruit, and dusty bread. Warming alcoholic body with dusty cereal flavours, fruit, sugar, bread, and mild bitterness in the finish. A bit too sweet at times. Slightly above average tripel.

Bottle. Pours a almost clear golden color with a decent sized white head. Aroma is wheat, fruit, honey. Flavor is yeast, malt, sweet fruits, floral. Palate is medium full with a sticky coating left on the lips, highly carbonated.

WOW! This is a monster! From a bomber bottle. Nice head, starts out sweet-ish and very full. This is a full bodied triple. A hint of citrus emrges. The overall experience(and result) is what I would call a warm fuzzy.

Pours light golden with an effervescent body and a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of candy sugar, honey, and fruity esters, bubble gum, and a wheaty note. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lively carbonation.

In the bomber bottle at the Max & Joe’s Tavern Michigan Beer tasting (11/21/6). Golden beer with a thin white head. Has the aroma of a pole cat. Perhaps it is a bit skunked. Strong up front bitterness. Followed by a big sweetness. If you can get over the slight skunky aroma, a lemon citrus emerges.

GABF 2006. Golden bodied. Nose is flowery, yeasty, sweet malts, light candyish notes, and a splash of honey. Taste is more floral notes, candied fruits, sweet malts, and Belgian yeast. Maybe some sourdough bread. Body is medium with a bubbly carbonation. Ends with more yeast notes, sweet malts, dried malts, and candied fruits.

Pours golden with a decent sized whitish head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is a yeasty floral, not bad. Taste is slightly sour, can’t notice the alcohol. Decent sweetness comes through as it warms.
