Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Bottle from Steve (punkrkr27) Thanks! Pours out a yellowish brown color with a white head. Smell is sweet, malty, and kind of hoppy. Taste is yeasty and unoffensive, quite interesting. Reminds me alot of a belgian tripel without all the shit at the bottom. Interesting beer, worth a shot for certain.

Medium hazy golden hue covered by a lasting white cover which leaves some lacing. Orangey pine-sol and grainy malts once warm, quite spicy in the nose from the beginning, combining floral hops with considerable white pepperiness. Acetone and solvant like notes disturb a bit the aroma that is otherwise softly doughy and with more ethanol than higher alcohols though both are more than noticeable. Sweet mouth attack bears a light candied fruit character, but the generous carbonation contributes to restraining the developping sweetness into a dryness that is more apparent than real. Adequate mouthfeel showcases a decent attenuation translating into an okay medium body irrigated by medium-large active bubbles. Restrained hoppiness supports the rest. Grainy alcohol lingers in the mouth.

22 oz bomber. Spices, such as, pepper, coriander, and lemon peel front this cloudy yellow brew. Has a strong estery finish with traces of green apple and yeast.

Looks pretty clear in the bottle, but when poured it has a slight haze- chill haze? Yellowish and fizzy body with a white head. Aroma is yeasty, lemons, citrus, pepper spice, phenolic and some fruity esters. Yeasty flavor, some wheat, phenolic, spices, more pepper and earth. Ok mouthfeel and pretty good finish. Body is a bit weak.

I liked this, but don’t know that I would consider it a Belgian style or a trippel. Clooudy dark amber ... darker than a trippel, with a small head and good lacing. Complex sweet fruity nose. Average mouth feel for a trippel ... good and full and soft and round, lightly carbonated. Taste of apples and yeast and bread ... fruitier than a trippel, with more sweetness than a trippel, and more bitterness than a trippel should have. I enjoy the bitterness, but I’m not sure it’s in the style of any Belgian I know.

Bottle: Slightly hazy golden color, with a small head, quick to dissipate. Aroma, alcohol, some spice, some bread, and floral hops. Flavor, a little tart, apples, some hops, yeast, a light floral finish.

Bottle. Pours a lazy cheddar with a fleeting head and slacker lacing. Aroma is a mixture of floral hops and apple juice. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy. As a tripel, this makes a great light IPA.

Poured from 22 oz screenprinted bottle. Pours a hazy straw to peach flesh color, Fluffy head doesn’t disapate too quickly. Smells fantastic, with scents of banana, clove, pear and apple rising from the glass. Taste has a stong ester flavor that, doesn’t add to the taste, moreover it beats you over the head with it’s flavor. There’s a decent sweetness that drains away to reveal a slightly astringent aftertaste. While easy to drink as far as mouthfeel and drinkability, was not easy for me to enjoy. With such an awesome scent, I was expecting more on the palate.
