Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

A nice beer. Pours golden with a good crisp taste. Not much of a head. Notes of citrus.

Nice triple. Fruity and syrupy with lots of stickness. I thought I detected banana but figured I was nutz. As I read others reviews, I discovered I’m not nutz at all. There’s a banana flavor going on here. Extra points given for that! Overall an easy to drink triple even with it’s higher ABV. Hoppy on the finish but very plesant and well balanced.

2005: Pour is slightly hazed holden yellow with a thin tight bubbled bright white head...the smell is yeasty, clove, corriander, black pepper, and bubble gum...the tast had lots of banana, and was very sweet up front...there was a medicinal bitterness towrad the finish...not too bad!

From 22oz Bottle. Pours a clean, clear goldenrod color with a medium layer of fine bubbled, brilliant white head. A relatively astingent bouquet of esters, highlighted by nutmeg, clove spice, and bandaid. Some sweeter cinnimon gummy bears lurk in there as well. Slightly thin bodied, butter texture with some sticky flavors of spiced banana and hazelnut liquor. A few notes of bubblegum whisk across the tongue before being replaced by some mildly unpleasant flavors of corn and wheat grains. The alcohol remains cleverly disguised. Final smack of freshly plucked coriander leaves and a light pine hoppiness. Not bad overall - the spicy complexity is highly enjoyable, but the cloying bandaid flavors and graininess become a touch overpowering toward the end. Thanks, Tom!

(draft) Clear apple juice body with fluffy white head, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, herbal/earthy, apricot, some alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, orange, peach syrup, some herbal, floral. Medium-full body, some stickiness, holds the alcohol well.

12 oz bottle, via BBB63. Pours a slightly hazy dark gold body under a fizzy one inch white head. Some sediment in bottle. Aroma is fruity and sweet with lots of bananas and marshmellows. Lighter hints of alcohol. Flavor is largely fruity as well, but with significant yeastiness and alcohol. Finish is quite alcoholic with a little bit of an acetone flavor. Mouthfeel is thick and full bodied with fairly active fizzy carbonation. Overall, this was OK, but just a little over the top with all the alcohol making it a slightly unpleasant experience.

Draft @ New Holland: Clear gold color with a small off-white head. Fruity aroma with phenolic yeasty notes. Mild spice. Notes of pears. Fruity flavor with bananas and spicey clove. Light to a medium body. Spiced finish.

Golden color with thick white head. Yeasty, fruity aroma. Fairly sweet malty flavor with a nice spicy hop finish. Very full bodied. Thanks John B.
