Head is medium thick, white, but quickly dissipates to nothing. Smell is sharp, bright and fresh clove spice, apple, coriander and pear. Smells perfumey. Taste is strong and very interesting. Overwhelmingly sugary sweet up front, caramel, banana and marshmallows. Along with the sweetness is drying clove and coriander, with decent ale hops. Big alcohol presence. Aftertaste is convoluted from a nasty residual sugars and very bitter hops. Unbalanced, too astringent for my liking. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 27, 2005 Dark color with a thin head. Aroma is very complex and malty. Flavor is smooth and malty as well with a smooth bitterness that will linger. Unexpected bitterness, but still a nice unique beer. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 26, 2005 Hazy light orange body with a bubble white head. This stuff is very aromatic, I can smell it from 2 feet away. Malty / floral aroma: grass, unsalted cracker and a touch of spicy pollen. The flavor is dry and bitter but with a few different levels of bitterness which is pretty cool. Pepper, grass, mustard seed, bread all with a noticable yeasty overtone make for a damn enjoyable brew. The dryness goes well with the above-average amount of carbonation. The finish carries a bit of hard candy sweetness but it’s not a big deal. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 23, 2005 Hazy orange-straw body with moderate carbonation and a medium frothy white head that left thick lace. Sweet aroma of lightly toasted pale malt, honey, mild floral esters, bubble gum, and alcohol. Considerably tart, lemony flavor with white wine qualities. Fairly sweet for a tripel with moderate bitterness and some heat. Lactic sourness dominates but becomes appealing. Medium body with some sticky residual sweetness, although the tartness cleans that up a bit. This beer is wild but refreshing, stylish, and interesting. Thanks OhioDad!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Golden color with very small foam. Dynamic nose with abundant yeast (leather, dough), malt (caramel, toffee) and hops (perfume), coming together to create hints of bubble gum, apple, peach and vanilla in the aroma. Aromatic characteristics continue upon tasting, with an added peanut butter element that goes well with the loads of fruits and bubble gum. On the finish, it’s a bit astringent. A pretty classy and well brewed American Tripel that isn’t quite as good as those from the homeland, but what American Tripels are?
