Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Bomber. Clear gold with a small white head. Sweet nose, yeasty and herbal, peach. Pretty lacing, body seems a bit light. Light, sweet flavors of orange and peach, a bit floral. Decent.

(bottle) Clear golden amber beer with a wispy white head. Aroma of apples, grapes, wheat, and yeast. Flavor is sweet, musty, earthy-herbal and a little tart with slight citrus and spice. Very soft mouthfeel. Smooth until the finish which is a little metallic and dry or astringent, but not bad.

Bomber. Pours orangey/yellow with a tan head. Nose is sweet and very peppery for trip, strange. Taste is sweet and peppery, way too pepper for me.

Clear medium gold, very pleasant aroma of light malts, faint candy and bubblegum, and some spicy, almost clove-like esters. Flavor matched, with a bit of peach coming through as well as some white pepper. Just a touch sweet, but overall, one of the better American takes on the style I have run across in a bit. Enjoyed this one.

500 mL into tulip. Pours a cloudy bright yellow with a disappointingly small, white head that leaves little spots of lacing. Nose of bubblegum, cloves, coriander, Belgian yeast, overripe bananas. Taste is normal tripel taste with candied light fruits, yeast, white sugar, spice, etc. albeit a little too acidic and way too much cloying alcohol. Very disappointing and expensive at $8.50....damn.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a moderate white head that quickly disappeared within a minute after pouring. Pleasant aroma of apples, lemon, candi sugar, and Belgian yeast. The flavor is malt, banana and Belgian yeast and really lacks any of the sweetness present in the nose. Some cloves at the finish. An ok beer, but probably not something I’d look to revisit.

Bomber from Parti-Pak Liquors (Indianapolis, IN). Pours a golden caramel color with one finger white foamy head. Aroma is sweet and floral with notes of ripe fresh fruit, caramel, candy sugar, fresh flowers, some hints of bready yeast. Flavor is sweet and floral with notes of candy sugar, caramel, honey, toffee, ripe fresh fruit, some hints of candied apples. Generally medium bodied with a pleasant malty caramel finish.
