Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Golden color, not much head. Floral and bubblegum nose, maybe sweeter hints of caramel and honey. Nicely sweet fluffy malts, but clean for a tripel. Somewhat unusual.

Pours a slightly cloudy medium gold with a respectable white head that diminishes but remains at the surface and laces the glass throughout. Aroma is sweet malt and spice. Taste is treacle-like candy sweetness, hop bitterness, caramel and mild citrus. Very interesting, but a little busy. ABV is well hidden.

Pours golden brown with a small off white head. Aroma is malty and slightly citrusy. Taste is malty and full of yeasty spices. Interesting.

Bottle from Capone’s. Deep gold pour with 1-finger off-white head and a lot of carbonation streams. Nose is rock candy malty, floral, earthy, with honey. Tastes malty, with fruit esters, yeasty floralsd, and a semi-dry finish. OK, but not great.

Bottle shared by todd at the carolina crew tasting. Nose is clove, spices, yeast. Flavor is a little heavy on the alcohol, more spices, pretty sweet overall. This wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible either.

Carolina Crew tasting! Bottle courtesy of Todd! Thanks! amber pour with a toffee & candy sugar aroma. Slick mouth-feel. Spiced well with notable hints of hops and malts. Unbalanced
