Commercial Description:
Since the early 1600's, the Dutch have attempted to breed a pure black tulip. Many have tried and a few have come close...but none have succeeded. Call it the Holy Grail of the tulip world. In honor of this elusive flower we have brewed this special elixir. We have combined the finest Belgian malt, rare European hops, an authentic Belgian yeast and finally, the brew is dusted with tulip petals. The resulting blend is nothing less than magical.

Cloudy amber pour. Aroma of sweet malt and some light hops. Taste is fruity, malty, molasses. I don’t find much of the hop bitterness.

I had this beer at Magoo’s on Tap.It was certainly different from any triple i have had, It was bitter and vaguely I could sense the floral hops. It gave no sense of high alcohol. modest head, sweet, and finished nicely.

Nose of mint, candied lemon, honey. Light malt, hop in the background. Sweet flavor similar to the aroma. Drank it in the sun. Seemed appropriate.

Bottle: Pours a light golden color with big, frothy head. Sweet and grainy, bit of skunk, bit o’ honey. Misplaced bitterness. Probably would not drink this again.

Good with good, fair, creamy white head / Full body, very malty, a touch cloying, with big and bitter finish / Cooked, skunky flavors of banana and coriander / Awkward and unduly heavy triple.

Clear gold, wispy white head. The bottle was full of a disturbing amount of floaties and, while I’m willing to chug down the chunks from some breweries, I doubt the quality of the yeast poop here, so I dodged it. Nose of yeast, bit of spice, and rotting apples, fruity but a bit off. Flavor is sugared citrus, a mite cloyingly sweet like not-particularly-good honey. Not much zip or zing. Aftertaste is a bit medicinal, some hop bite but too chemical.
