Hazy reddish/brown in color with a small short-lasting pale tan head. Aroma is spice and roasted malt. Sweet brown sugar and molassas taste with a peppery hop bitterness. Texture is rather thin and watery nevertheless. Not bad, but no doppelbock. As I’ve said before, New Holland products though good are over-rated and over-priced.

Pours a dark yet mostly clear honey-tinted mahogany with a small, tan head fizzing away quickly. By the aroma I would not guess this a doppel, with juicy, citrus hoppiness dominating dusty strains of chocolate and caramel. The taste finds a sweet malted body interacting with the fruitiness, but the flavors are cut thin... as if somebody dropped in a couple of ice cubes and a splash of vodka. I’m thinking about taking back a comment I made in a recent review that "If it’s got a goat, it’s gotta be good."

Light brown leather color. Fairly strong bitter nose. Hoppy with a distinct malt characteristic. Sweet. Sticky throughout. A kind of rice, rye, wheat flavor combination throughout. A long finish that has a sweet coffee flavor. Interesting, I’d probably have this one again.

220z bomber. Clear and ruby brown. Minimal almost no head. Fruity, grape nose. Sugary sweet aroma with a little toffee. Medium with a lively mouthfeel. Sweet candy malts. Bitter hop finish. Nutty and smooth. crisp dry finish.

Deep, dark crimson hued, under a tight, ring of cocoa-tinged foam...looks nice.. Caramelly nose, toffeeish, too, sweet and luscious. Nice, again. Taste: A bit blunt. No, I meant bland. Sweet, and fruity. Dark, malty, thick toffee...a bit flat, this one, though. Nice body, fairly full, but lacking a certain zing. Tasty, but doesn’t feel like a true doppelbock. Close, though. Not bad, I did say "yummy, yum", right? If not, here you go..."yummy, yum"...but needs more, sorry to say. Just not really grabbing me. Although, it grows on ya...really does...
