Commercial Description:
Robust in character yet smooth in delivery, Cabin Fever is a roasty brown ale and a hearty, comforting companion for long, mind-bending winters. Its rye, roast and raisin notes play off a subtle caramel sweetness and culminate in a dry finish. Excellent with roasts, stews, caramelized onions and snowfall.

Bottle. Poured a brown color with a little white head. Aroma was roasted malts, toast, and yeast. Flavor was weaker. Not a whole lot. Some malts coming through. There is better winter beers out there.

Poured into a standard pint glass with a small, fleeting caramel head. Aroma of deep, full malts. Taste is surprisingly complex. Definitely full bodied with flavors including heavy malts, caramel, slight coffee notes, and a nice smooth dry finish. Excellent beer. Everything i was hoping for. I will be going back to buy more tomorrow.

Aroma has a good amount of cocoa with a measure of pure licorice root. The flavor is pure, cold drinking chocolate with hints of hazelnut and a bit more of the licorice root.

12oz bottle. Small tan head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, chocolate, nut, coffee/roast, some toffee/caramel, cherry. Taste is moderately sweet, chocolate, coffee, nut, some caramel, roast, rye spiciness. Medium body, low carbonation. A lot of flavors in here, seems like it’s trying to do a bit too much. Also a bit too sweet.

Poured a deep dark brownish red with an off white small head that faded away pretty fast. No lacing to speak of. Smells of sweet roasted malts. Chocolate and raisin. A bit of roast coffee. Taste is very sweet and roasty. Very heavy for a brown ale. Has the brown sugar sweetness of a brown ale and the coffee and chocolate complexity you would normally get from a stout. Finish is slightly the bitterness of roasted coffee beans. There is something off and medicinal about the background. Not quite sure what it is. but it is masked well enough to not ruin this beer for me. A great winter brew! Mouthfeel is a little flat and oily. Drinkability is good, but not a session beer. Slightly heavy with the deep pallet. All in all something worth trying. I’ll probably cellar a bottle of this to try again next year. Let ya know if that helps. cheers!

Pours clear dark brown with reddish hints. Thin dark cream head. Aroma full of chocolate, fruity esters, and subtle roast. No noticeable hop aroma. Crisp malt flavor with chocolate in the forefront with a dry finish. Light to medium mouthfeel. A decent brown ale, albeit a tad underwhelming.
