Commercial Description:
Robust in character yet smooth in delivery, Cabin Fever is a roasty brown ale and a hearty, comforting companion for long, mind-bending winters. Its rye, roast and raisin notes play off a subtle caramel sweetness and culminate in a dry finish. Excellent with roasts, stews, caramelized onions and snowfall.

From a 12 oz bottle this brew pours a nice dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of caramel, coffee and raisin. Taste was lots of raisin and what seemed like licorice to me... the coffee and roasted malts lingered in the background. This is a pretty tasty brown ale - a little different than some of the other brown ales I normally drink - but not in a bad way. Very solid.

Bottle. Man this was pretty good. Aroma is nutty and roasted malt all the way. Flavor has a big initial dose of coffee and gives way to some roast malt, nuts, chocolate and a bit of dry bitterness. I liked this and its seems a tad underrated to me.

(bottle) Dark brown body and a small light brown head. Very chocolaty aroma, burnt roast, acidic, and fruity. Sweet and roasted flavor, but some surprising sour notes.

bottle - Pours medium brown with a one finger head. It has a mild, nutty caramel malt aroma. The flavor is of caramel malt with some off tasting sourness in the background that makes me think there’s a hint of infection. It looks like "screigh" below got some with a worse infection. At any rate, the sourness was only hinted at in my bottle, but the beer was light and lacking in flavor. It was drinkable, but not much more.

Taste 2/9 Bottle. Looks: Deep, clear brown with a thick foam that disappears quickly. Aroma: Medium and dark roasts, toast and chocolate. Taste: Smokey, watery and broken. Not a pleasing taste to me. Nothing complements the other. Doesn’t come across as a brown ale.

Bottle. Dark black color. Creamy off white head. Some lacing. Flavors of coffee, chocolate, and carmal. Has a strange sour taste. I generally like brown beers, but this definitely is not what I was expecting. Very intense and unusual. Curious to know how this tastes as a draft.

Opaque amber pour with a 1/2" brown head and minimum lacing. Roasted, nutty malt aroma with a hint of chocolate. Medium bodied and mildly sweet. Seems balanced enough and is a touch thin in the finish. Warm flavors of toast, nuts, and cocoa powder. Woody flavor with an abundance of crystal malt. Mildly assertive, a rather enjoyable brown ale.

Poured a heavy brown with some red hues. Off-white head. Smell is sweet but off...weird smelling. Taste is horrible. It tastes sweet like a milk stout but think spoiled milk instead of lactose sugar. Horrible sour taste. One of the worst 6 packs I have bought in awhile.
