The beer has the full character of any great winter beer but the hoppy sweet flavors really combine to make a smooth beer great for Michigan winters. pauliefrog99 (302), FLINT, Michigan, USA

The malt is fascinating - the taste reminds me of my homebrewed maple marzen, actually, with a complex richness (crystal, amber, munich malts?) accented with a little yeastiness - But, unlike my marzen, this brew is well and assertively hopped. Damn fine beer. FUNK (120), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

A dark red amber color with a pleasent hoppy-flowery aroma. A decent amount of head, i was sampling out of a growler or there would have been more. A mild malty sweetness with a hint of spice that fades quickly as the hopps shine through. The hopps give a pleasent bitterness that lingers in the back of your mouth. Also leaves a decent amount of lace on the glass. All in all a very good brew. Zach Diesel (907), Portland, Oregon, USA
