Medicinal for sure, and I liked this more than Sam Adam’s Cherry wheat, for example. Refreshing but I would ease off the cherry a bit and allow the body of the beer to show through. Overall well done. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada

Spicy, tart, some cherry flavor, quite dry. Finally a cherry beer that isn’t just a lager with concentrated fruit juice and sugar added. Nice work on this one. Not overpretentious, it had a solid real cherry taste and was very complex. Me and my friend guy enjoyed two of these fine beverages at NHB and were quite impressed. I HIGHLY recommend this brew to any beer lover be they novice or expert. P-tor44 (886), Anchorage, Alaska, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 25, 2002 for a while New Holland produced a lot of excellent beers but not a wide range of style. Since I returned to Michigan I’ve been really happy to see them opening it up a bit. I wasn’t expecting much from this Cherry ale but it beat my expectations. Very mild and subtle sour cherry aroma. Dark red, looked like the kind of extra dark blood you get when your bleeding out in the cold skiing. Cherries make this beer delightfully sour but the real beauty for me was the good hop presence you could feel sitting underneath the cherries. A solid beer from michigans forgotten brewery.
