Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Bottle. Blackish beer with a tan head. Milk chocolate aroma. Chocolate, light oatmeal, and light oak flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Chocolate, light milk and light malt lingers with a bit of toasty malts.

great black color with ruby red in the tint. Super smooth flavor that’s really strong with the vanilla and oak. I like this one. It’s like sipping a nice cognac in a way -- like what I’d like to sit and enjoy the way you would a cognac, without the heavy alcohol taste and a great depth of oaky flavor.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with ruby hues, fully receding tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is milky, chocolate, oak and brown malts. Mouthfeel is medium/full bodied with lively carbonation. Tasty, but not amazing.

22oz. bottle served in a snifter. Poured a dark reddish brown with a quickly dissipating head. Lots of chocolate in the aroma, also a bit fruity. A bit of hops come out in the aroma as it warms. More chocolate in the flavor. Medium to full bodied. Vanilla flavors from the oak. I really got the flavor of a good English toffee from this beer. Fairly long finish with more vanilla notes from the oak. Very easy drinking for 9%.

The nose is a very nice smokey vanilla.Pours very dark with a small head. Taste is good.Smokey ,roasty, dark chocolate, and the body is a bit lighter than i would have liked. Still this is a very tasty ale.

22 oz. bottle. Got this recommended by the beer guy at my local liquor store; thought it would be a cream stout, based on the name, but am interested in an English Strong Ale (not sure I’ve ever had one). Pours a blackish color with red hints around the edges where the light catches it, and almost no head at all (whatever there was died very fast). Smells of lots of bourbon, some oak, roasted malt, and a fair bit of alcohol. Tastes of a lot of bourbon, but is much smoother than I was expecting, as the smell made me think I would be hit hard with it. Also tastes of a oakey wood flavor, that usually I only taste in an oak aged beer. There may be some vanilla at the end, but there isn’t much of an alcohol bite, which is nice. Goes down fairly smooth, though I would still stay away if you can’t stand bourbon. Good, and an interesting beer, but nothing overly spectactular.
