Smells of vanilla, wood, roasted chocolate, and heavy cream. Tastes of cocoa, marshmallow, bourbon, and coffee. Hints of some dark fruit. Body is velvety smooth. Though the sound of "milk" in a beer title is intimidating, don’t let it bother you. Its not as bad as it sounds. Very unusual, but a nice brew. buckeyebeerman (11), Ohio, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Draught. Poured dark grayish brown with ruby edges and thin beige head that dissipates quickly. Aroma was very woody, chocolate, lactic, caramel, dark fruits. Flavor was caramel, chocolate, vanilla-oak, and whiskey. Palate, I thought, was a little light but very warming at the same time. I honestly expected a little more than I got. Good beer nonetheless. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

THe nose is chocolate, coffee and toast (wood toast). Initial strong hit of bourbon on the front. It then mellows and chocolate, licorice and other nuances develop. Finishes smooth with a nice after taste. terrybail (335), London, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Updated: Jul 15, 2009OK, upon having this a second time, and all to myself, I am seriously less impressed. The beer is amazing, but very one-note on the oakiness. About 2/3 through the beer, the oakiness starts to get to you, and you wish there were more flavors in there. Split it with a friend, or have one on draft, and youll love it. Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Sampled at the bockyhorsey tasting. Appears super dark brown with no head. Aroma is butterscotch/diacetyl and bourbon. Little hints of roast in the background. Taste is roasty (surprised me a bit based on the aroma) as well as airy and thin. A clean beer with some roast and alcohol that accumulate on the palate, but never really appears in the taste. A bit disappointing.
