Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA Jan 11, 2009 Dark black and silky, with little head. Strong licorice-based aroma, but the first sip is fairly restrained ... moderate strength, hint of smoke, licorice, dark fruit. (#3482, 11/2008)
Butters (1622), Virginia, USA Jan 5, 2009 Sampled at the Second Cellar Reduction. Pours a very dark brown with fisheye bubble tan head. Aroma notes of anise, raisin, and alcohol. Nice roasty flavors, oak, dark rum soaked fruits, molasses. Very tasty brew. Exactly what I imagine dragons milk to taste like. Great name. Barrios (852), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jan 5, 2009 Bottle at Second Cellar Reduction. Pours tan head and dark brown body. Roasty and choclate aroma with coffee and milk chocolate flavor. branspra (204), Arlington, Virginia, USA Jan 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black, clear color with a small, white head. Lacing is average. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts, and a slight hint of wood. Lively carbonation to begin, then a slick finish. Tastes include chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Not what I expected, but not a bad beer either. dutch23mp (160), Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA Jan 4, 2009 Updated: Feb 23, 200922 oz bottle another fine product from new Holland. chocolate flavor is pronounced and this beer is probably best on the warmer side then colder. Great balance of flavor and the 9% ABV is very well hidden. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Jan 3, 2009 22 oz bottle shared with neighbors. Black pour with decent head.
