Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Pours a rich brown color with thin tannish head. Aroma is of intense bourbon, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is light chocolate and caramel malt, but the overall bourbon character makes only a trace appearance. Overall it’s a damn good beer for the style.

Pours a pitch black with a medium off-white head, which leaves a few streams of lacing. Aroma is vanilla, maple syrup, and bourbon. Taste is smooth; chocolate, some vanilla and maple characteristics, aligned with some oak and bourbon. Not too shabby. Surprised that it is an ESA. Pretty sure this is in the stout family.

Brewed in the USA....... Pours black with a small tan head and some spider lacing. Aroma of vanilla, molasses, malts and wood. The taste is of dark malts, caramel, vanilla and a hint of bourbon. Mouthfeel is smooth and sweet and finishes with a very mild dryness. Overall, this strong ale is incredibly easy to drink and you don’t taste the 9%.

Vanilla on the nose, oaky aromas with hints of chocolate. Pours black with a thin tan head. Mild chocolate flavor, big vanilla and oak flavor, smooth, sweet malts with a good creamy flavor.

Dark black and silky, with little head. Strong licorice-based aroma, but the first sip is fairly restrained ... moderate strength, hint of smoke, licorice, dark fruit. (#3482, 11/2008)

Sampled at the Second Cellar Reduction. Pours a very dark brown with fisheye bubble tan head. Aroma notes of anise, raisin, and alcohol. Nice roasty flavors, oak, dark rum soaked fruits, molasses. Very tasty brew. Exactly what I imagine dragons milk to taste like. Great name.
