Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

22oz bottle. Poured a deep dark brown, almost black with a brown head. Strong chocolate aroma, rich and malty. Slightly woody and a little boozy, warming. Tasty.

Tasting at Brewtopia. I have always wanted to try this(probably the name!). A nice dark brown pour with edges of dark red. This one smells sweet, roasted, toasted and some vanilla creeps in on the nose. The flavor was a bit of a let down. I get some chocolate and malts but I also get some weird flavor and mouthfeel hit me. A bit too toasty for my likes and strikes me as a porter more than a ESA . Alcohol is hidden pretty well.

Pours a slightly murky mahogany into the glass, with a tiny head that dissipates to nothing. Some sweet vanilla, oak and roasted notes to the nose, reminiscent of a complex stout or porter. Dry takes on caramel malts and some dark fruits on the flavor palate, with some semi-sweet chocolates and slight roasts ingrained as well. The finish is about the same, with the esters and roasts closing the pull. The mouthfeel is creamy, with alcohol noted throughout. A nice brew, and a good all-around offering, although not the typical ESA, in my humble opinion. Decent.

milky malty sweet smell, like a milk stout. slight roastiness. very very dark ruby. slight fruitiness, sweet taste and creamy. like a milk stout mixed with an old ale. light vanilla. very light wood taste. slight astringency. this beer is weird. maybe it’s the name, but I get a lot of milk stout character. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Bottle thanks to Daniel. Pours a dark brown/red color with a large light-brown head. The aroma is very nice; lots of roasted notes, some chocolates, some woody aspects also. The taste is excellent; initially sweet malts, milky and thick roasted malt flavors, some sweet chocolates, and some light and earthy wood flavors in the finish. Very easygoing, and hardly hot at all. Very decadent and extremely milky. Some alcohol present, but overall, a very quaffable brew. Very enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. Pours a clear dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit, and oak. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good.

22 oz bottle. Vanilla and oaky aroma. Taste of roasted malt, with strong oak flavors and vanilla. Alcohol presence, but it doesn’t everwhelm the brew. The slightest hint of resin hops in the background. Poured black with tan head and lacing on the glass. Enjoyed sipping this one.
