Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

Bottle. Poured a dark mahogany with a sparse beige head that quickly disappeared. Aroma of oak vanilla and chocolate. Flavor was chocolate, sweet malt and oak. Body was too weak for this beer, but otherwise it is a masterpiece.

22oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a small fizzy beige head, 0 lacing. Nose was big on chocolate, oak, dark fruits and maybe a bit of smoke. Flavor held a bit of booze, oak, and chocolate. A was not overly impressed with this brew after all the hype.

Pours a deep dark brown. The nose is milk chocolate, with some hints of oak. It comes across the palate as a thick darj chocoalte with some subtle notes of oak. Their is a very subtle bitter after taste; with a touch of oak.

Poured into a snifter glass with a small, tan head that didn’t last very long. Scents of bourbon and chocolate with hints of coffee in the background; a perfect blend. Chocolate and malt were at the foreground of the flavor while nuts and bourbon took the back seat. The taste stays with you for the rest of the night. Very smooth and lightly carbonated. I will be buying this again.

Aroma of chocolate and some coffee. Dark brown pour with tan head and lace. Flavor of medium chocolate and toasted malt, hints of abv. Not much bitter but some. Palate is solid with just a hint of granniness. Very solid beer all round

Picked up at Green’s in Greenville, South Carolina, as it is not available in Georgia, Dragon’s Milk poured out dark brown, and formed a khaki colored head. The smell was a nice mixture of herbal hops and sweet chocolate and toffee. The taste was an extension of the smell with sweet malts being showcased with a backing of hops. The beer was carbonated nicely, and gave a creamy textured feel in the mouth. The finish was quite sweet and would have benefited a bit from more alcoholic strength. Very easy to drink, and quite flavorful, I definately see myself picking up more of this when it becomes more readily available.

Short review because of short notes: Bomber into pint glass. A very rich thick brew, vanilla and milk chocolate mostly. Rich and creamy. If you like sweet stouts (or you liked Rogue chocolate stout) you will probably live this. It was almost too much though for me. I didn’t really want an entire bomber of it, maybe just a 12 ounce or a pint.
