Commercial Description:
Dragon’s Milk is a 17th century term used to describe the strong beer usually reserved for royalty. This strong ale was aged in oak for over 120 days. The aging process extracts flavors from the wood, which contribute to its complex character. Hints of bourbon flavor perfectly compliment its roasted malts to produce a beer fit for a King.

I got some of this from dra19 and from acertain, so to whichever one of you whose bottle I opened tonight I thank you! The pour was super dark brown with lighter brown hightlights on the edges. A tan, one-finger tall head popped up and provided a bit of lacing. The aroma was vanilla, cinnamon and booze. A pleasant whiskey barrel booze mind you, but it’s right there, not hiding from anyone. The flavor is chocolate and smoke initially with the whiskey and vanilla coming in on the backside. A mild and easy drinking mouthfeel. A great winter warmer. This beer is missing just the tiniest bit of something that would make it a world-class brew. With a touch more piney/floral hops this would be...well...a big old IS I suppose.

Dark brown with creamy head. So drinkable you can almost take out the strong part of an english strong ale. Medium malty body. Slightly sweet and a slight hop finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Slightly hazy dark brown with a dense, creamy, beige and lacing head. Fat aroma of malt, fruit and dried fruits. Medium body with notes of dried fruit - raisins in particular. Lightly sweet yet with a somewhat dry and hoppy finish. Unusual. 201107

1 pt 6 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown and with a reddish hue and a diminished light brown head. Mild/smooth chocolate to liqourice blended aroma and with a slight roasted note. Flavour holds a mild warming alcohol feel, a slight burning roasted malt note and a smooth chocolate note. Finish has the same in a continued fashion. Quite nice but not really great.

Bottled. Hazy dark brown coloured. Buttery cocoa aroma with cheesy notes. Sweet buttery cocoa and chocolate flavour. Notes of bourbon. Rather unclean. Light to medium body.

22 oz Bottle. Pours dark brown, much darker than expected. Aroma of vanilla and oak. Taste includes both of those, along with coffee and chocolate, and a noticeable but not overwhelming bourbon flavor. Excellent winter beer.

This is a fabulous winter beer. The vanilla and carmel flavors come through perfectly. I would like to have a lot more of this.
